Chapter 62 - Chapter 62: Hermit Organization

Located in the Iviza West District at 53 Qikaodi Street, this house had its entrance hidden within a Dark Alley.

The houses in front and behind it had even been purchased and connected, making the interior of 53 Qikaodi Street appear exceptionally spacious once inside.

Bizarre religious artifacts and strange symbols could be seen everywhere in the room, making it clear to anyone who saw them that this was not a good place.

It looked like a gathering place for some evil cult.

However, at this moment, inside this cult's gathering place, a group of people was busy collecting evidence and moving corpses.

These were all clerics of the Church of Generosity and Wisdom—no, according to their own words, they were "Investigators."

A stealthy figure stood out, appearing somewhat out of place compared to the busy crowd around them.

Suddenly, a voice called out to that figure:

"Pasha, where are you going? Help us go to the headquarters and fetch some more materials."

The girl called Pasha stiffened, then said without looking back, "Okay! I'll go right now!"

Having said that, she slipped out of the house in a flash.

"Uh... this child, she isn't scared, is she?"

"Can't be helped, Pasha is squeamish about blood... otherwise, she wouldn't still be at the First Saint Rank after all this time."

"Have you contacted the newspaper offices? We must find out who that green-haired woman is; it will be a huge help in our investigation of this cult."

"We've already sent people to contact all the major newspaper offices."

The conversation behind her faded as the girl's footsteps took her further away. After running out onto the street, she reached out with a slight tremble, pulled out a pipe, and clamped it in her mouth.

This was standard equipment for an Investigator. Although she didn't smoke, holding it this way helped her think more calmly.

"Green hair... tall figure... judging by the clues from the dream, she is flat-chested..." the girl muttered. If Syl were present, she would certainly recognize this voice.

This girl was the Little Monster, the magician of at least the Third Rank whom they had met at the Mana Tide Salon.

"Isn't this the companion for whom Silver Crow asked me to help clear the wanted notice last time?" Pasha recalled this matter in her heart. She pulled the brim of her deerstalker hat down, her hand touching the pipe trembling slightly.

"Their organization... is actually fighting against a Devotee of an evil god!?" Pasha thought as she quickened her pace. "I must notify the organization quickly. Over at the Church, they have already classified the danger level of that green-haired woman to be on par with that Devotee."

"I estimate that after the newspapers publish the article, it will cause some panic among the civilians on Qikaodi Street... but there is no other way. We must explain the importance of the matter so that someone will come forward to report clues..."

Pasha's mind was in a whirl. She turned into an alley, weaving around in circles. When passing through a completely deserted area, she suddenly leaned against the wall and raised her hand to cast a spell without chanting or using any spellcasting materials.

A circular Teleportation portal appeared in front of Pasha. She bowed and stepped directly through it, and the distorted portal vanished along with her figure.

The next moment, Pasha's figure appeared inside a spacious palace hall. Seven statues stood in the hall, but there were fourteen pedestals; the remaining seven statues were missing.

Pasha took off her deerstalker hat, and her long brown hair cascaded down, freed from its confinement.

She just tossed her hair casually and ran toward the side of the palace, skillfully running up the spiral stone stairs.

Only the echo of Pasha's footsteps could be heard in the massive palace; there was no other sound.

When Pasha reached a certain spot on the third floor, she slowed her pace, seemingly waiting for something.

After a while, a lazy voice came:

"Oh... Pasha, my dear Pasha, shouldn't you be at the Church of Generosity and Wisdom right now? Why are you back? Do you want to beg Hermit Yodora for candy again?"

This voice sounded annoying no matter how one listened to it.

"I have important matters to report to Lady Yodora. Stop the nonsense, Sonia, hurry up with the inspection." Pasha frowned and urged the person in front of her impatiently.

"Tsk, boring." A crack suddenly tore open in the void directly above the stairs, and a fair, white arm reached out from within, a ring with a red gemstone on the finger shimmering with light.

A red beam of light shone on Pasha's forehead. At the same time, Sonia, who had not revealed her true form, continued perfunctorily:

"Hmm... physical condition is good... no divine pollution... no tracking marks... no signs of control... mental state is not very good, you need to pay attention to rest..."

"Wait, wait..." Sonia paused, then suddenly said "wait" several times in rapid succession, her voice gradually becoming urgent. "What's going on? What did you see!? What did you touch!? Your spirit is being polluted by an aura I have never seen before!"

Sonia, who had been speaking sarcastically earlier, seemed genuinely anxious, and her tone sounded as if she were worried about Pasha.

"It's fine, Sonia, it's just some mild whispering syndrome; it's not that hard to overcome." Pasha waved her hand and bypassed the rift. "I'm going to see Hermit Yodora."

"She is currently having a meeting on the top floor... I think you can go straight there."

"Thanks." After saying that, Pasha continued walking toward the upper floor.

At this moment, on the top floor of the castle, a routine meeting was underway. The main topic of this meeting was the information submitted by an organization member last time regarding the Saintess of Hope and a strange organization.

"Is it necessary for us to make contact with the Saintess of Hope?"

"No, according to records, the members we sent to contact the divine envoys of various churches previously all met with bad ends."

"But the Saintess is still in a weakened state..."

"That is not something we can handle either."

"Then we should at least give a warning, right?"

"The Holy Spear of Death has already returned to Suramar. She will not let her sister's death go unavenged; she does not need our warning."

"Heh... a bunch of false gods..."

"Enough, Trevor."

"Let's talk about that organization. Does anyone here know if there has ever been such an organization in Suramar?"

"It is highly likely to be fabricated. If there were such an organization, it would be impossible for us not to have discovered it."

Almost everyone stopped talking, and the air fell into a deathly silence. Under this oppressive atmosphere, the massive wooden door was slowly pushed open, and Pasha stepped in quietly.
