Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: There is a martial arts genius!

Seeing that she had arrived at the place Ye Guojiang had instructed, Su Bai lifted her foot and walked into the Martial Pavilion, the Demon Hunting Association's branch organization in White Cloud City.

Upon entering, she saw an old man with a mustache sitting at the counter by the entrance.

Although his appearance was unremarkable, Su Bai sensed the explosive power hidden within his body.

He was actually a Grandmaster.

A Grandmaster guarding the door.

Inside the Martial Pavilion, there were a few people who didn't seem like Martial Artists, purchasing items on the first floor.

Smelling the scent of herbs in the air, the first floor here was clearly similar to a medical hall.

Upon seeing someone enter, the old man looked up at Su Bai.

He asked lightly, "Is there something you need?"

Su Bai didn't answer, simply taking out her Demon Hunting Association badge.

The old man's spirits lifted a bit after seeing the badge.

He then asked for Su Bai's School and name.

After verifying her identity, he continued, "To accept missions, go to the second floor. To exchange Cultivation Techniques or weapons, go to the backyard."

"I'm here to accept a mission."

Hearing Su Bai's request, the mustached old man took out a piece of paper, wrote something on it, and handed it to Su Bai.

"Go on up."

Su Bai took the paper and saw her information written on it.

Mingyu Sect.

Su Bai.

Realm: Grandmaster.

Su Bai held the paper and walked towards the second floor.

Once she reached the second floor, there were two or three people there.

Observing their state, although they weren't Grandmasters, their spirits were full, indicating they were all just a step away from becoming Grandmasters.

The second floor also had a receptionist.

This receptionist's strength was ordinary, just a regular Martial Master.

After Su Bai handed him the information she held, he said, "This Young Miss Su Bai, please follow me."

Su Bai was then led to a tea table.

While Su Bai sat down and waited, a pot of tea was served.

After drinking tea and waiting for a moment, a shrewd-looking middle-aged man came over.

He held a booklet in his hand.

As he walked, he didn't reveal his strength, indicating he was also an expert.

"I am Heifeng."

"Heroine Su Bai, these are a few locations of Yao Beasts that have been recently scouted. Their strengths are all around the Grandmaster Realm."

"Please take a look and see which one you wish to hunt."

As he spoke, he handed over the booklet he held.

Su Bai opened it and saw that all the locations were not far from White Cloud City.

No matter which one she chose, she could reach it within a day.

Of course, Su Bai wanted to choose all of them.

So, she asked just that.

Hearing Su Bai's words, the middle-aged man, who looked like a manager, was silent for a moment.

"Senior Ye Guojiang is also an elder, and I naturally trust the Grandmaster strength of the Personal Disciple he recommended, but..."

"These Yao Beasts are not easy to deal with."

His implication was that Su Bai shouldn't be too boastful and overexert herself.

If she were to fail, it would mean losing a young Genius.

Su Bai naturally wasn't overly confident.

In fact, even if she couldn't defeat the Yao Beast, running away was not a problem.

She was an Innate Grandmaster!

If things truly became insurmountable, she still had the ability to fly using object manipulation!

After Su Bai clearly inquired about the locations of the Yao Beasts and their attack methods, she left the Martial Pavilion and walked towards the backyard.

"First, I'll go find the Wood Vine Ape; this monkey is the closest here."

"According to the map, after that, I can go find the Hanging Eye Tiger..."

She calculated that if her stamina was sufficient, she could hunt four Yao Beasts in one go.

Arriving at the Martial Pavilion's backyard, there was a stable.

Su Bai naturally couldn't run for a whole day and then go kill Yao Beasts.

She wouldn't be exhausted to death; having a means of transportation would be better.

After temporarily borrowing a horse, she immediately headed towards the nearest Wood Vine Ape.

She traveled, stopping and resting the horse along the way.

Finally, she arrived at her destination before nightfall on the second day.

As soon as Su Bai dismounted, a person dressed in a dark robe jumped down from a tree.

"Are you Young Miss Su Bai?"

"I am."

"I am Flying Eagle, a scout for the Demon Hunting Association, specializing in surveillance and tracking Yao Beasts. I have already received a flying message about your arrival. Would you like to rest for the night?"

Flying Eagle first asked for Su Bai's identity, then stated that he was from the Demon Hunting Association.

Su Bai naturally didn't need to rest.

Only her horse needed rest.

So she answered directly, "Tell me the Yao Beast's location now."

"Yes, the Wood Vine Ape is three li ahead in the forest. It's resting by the stream. Do you need assistance?"

"Not for now. I'll test its strength first."

As a scout capable of tracking Yao Beasts, Flying Eagle was naturally in the Grandmaster Realm, but he wasn't skilled in direct combat; he excelled in movement techniques.

This way, even if the Yao Beast made any moves, he could easily keep up.

After refusing his kind offer, Su Bai asked Flying Eagle to temporarily take care of her horse while she entered the forest alone.

After leaving Flying Eagle's sight, Su Bai fully unleashed her movement technique.

At the same time, she released her Black Iron Hoe.

Her figure sped through the forest, seemingly unaffected by the complex terrain.

Moments later, Su Bai heard the sound of a stream and saw the figure of the Wood Vine Ape.

This Wood Vine Ape lived up to its name as a Yao Beast; it was at least two zhang tall!

It was as tall as a two-story building.

At this moment, the monkey was breathing evenly, leisurely lying by the stream, sleeping.

It had no vigilance whatsoever.

Even so, Su Bai did not immediately attack.

Instead, she first used the Object Control Art to control her Low Grade Magical Artifact, the Black Iron Hoe.

"Go!"

Although it was a hoe, a Low Grade Magical Artifact was harder than any sword or blade in this world.

It also had the enhancement of spiritual power.

With one strike, it was as fast as lightning.

The Wood Vine Ape hadn't even sensed the danger when the hoe struck it on the forehead!

Bang!

With a muffled thud, the Wood Vine Ape grunted.

Its body went limp and collapsed to the ground.

Seeing this, Su Bai remained hidden in the shadows, continuing to control the hoe.

Another hoe strike hit the Wood Vine Ape on the forehead!

"Roar!"

After being attacked again, the Wood Vine Ape stopped playing dead and let out an enraged roar.

Seeing this, Su Bai sneered, knowing that this beast was feigning death.

But since Su Bai didn't reveal herself, the Wood Vine Ape could only rage impotently at the Black Iron Hoe.

Under Su Bai's control, the Black Iron Hoe continuously attacked the Wood Vine Ape.

One strike!

Two strikes!

Three strikes!

It kept pounding the Wood Vine Ape's head.

As the Wood Vine Ape's forehead was crushed, this Grandmaster-level Yao Beast died tragically!

Only then did Su Bai emerge from the tree where she was hiding.

"Even if you've cultivated Body Refining to the first level, what of it? You still can't touch my shadow."

Feeling only half of her spiritual power remaining in her body, Su Bai shook her head.

She had only controlled the Magical Artifact to attack a few times, yet it consumed so much spiritual power.

If Su Bai hadn't been more precise in her use of spiritual power than ordinary Qi Refinement Stage cultivators, she wouldn't have been able to control a Low Grade Magical Artifact for so many attacks.

If other Grandmasters had come for this Wood Vine Ape, it would indeed have been quite troublesome.

It was no wonder Flying Eagle asked if she needed assistance.

An ordinary Grandmaster fighting alone would indeed not be able to take down this Yao Beast.

Unfortunately, Su Bai was not just a Grandmaster, but an Innate Grandmaster!

She was also a Cultivator!

Looking at the fallen Wood Vine Ape, Su Bai dismantled it, separating its fur, bones, and meat.

These Yao Beast Materials could be exchanged for Spirit Stones in the Immortal Realm.

They couldn't be wasted.

After personally slaying a Yao Beast, Su Bai also had a rough idea of the Yao Beast's strength.

So, after dealing with the Wood Vine Ape, Su Bai immediately returned to Flying Eagle.

She took her horse from him and, while doing so, asked if the Hanging Eye Tiger at the next location was still in its original spot.

"Young Miss Su Bai, most of these Yao Beasts have territorial awareness. Generally, unless an Innate Grandmaster appears, they won't easily change locations if they don't feel threatened. This is also why we Grandmasters can keep track of them."

"Good, then I'll immediately head to the next location. Giddy up!"

Su Bai didn't waste any words.

She rode off on her horse.

She could use the horse for travel, and the spiritual power in her body could be restored by taking Qi Returning Powder and slowly recovering.

By the time she reached the Hanging Eye Tiger's location, her spiritual power would have recovered by seventy to eighty percent.

After Su Bai left, Flying Eagle darted into the forest.

Under the influence of his movement technique, his speed was surprisingly not slower than the Innate Su Bai.

He quickly arrived at the previous location of the Wood Vine Ape.

He saw that by the stream, besides a pool of blood, a few internal organs, and a cracked patch of ground, the Wood Vine Ape's body was nowhere to be seen.

There were no signs of a struggle.

Flying Eagle approached the scene and carefully distinguished, "The fur and scent are indeed the Wood Vine Ape's..."

"What terrifying strength! Looking at the scene, the Wood Vine Ape was killed with virtually no resistance."

"This Young Miss Su Bai is definitely not just a Grandmaster!"

As a scout, Flying Eagle's senses were extremely keen.

When he first met Su Bai, he felt a slight sense of pressure from her.

But at that time, he didn't suspect much.

He simply thought that Su Bai's Cultivation Technique was powerful, making her stronger than him, who only had movement techniques.

Now it seemed, "That Young Miss Su Bai is very likely already an Innate!"
