The next morning I was woken by Molly shaking me with the urgency of someone whose life depended on it. I groaned and swatted her hands away. We had stayed up far too late watching television and my body had not forgiven me yet, especially after the sparring matches the day before.
"Wake up, Nova, it is ten o'clock! The unmated wolves will be here soon!"
I dragged myself upright in her bed and rubbed my eyes hard, trying to locate some trace of alertness. Eight hours of sleep and I still felt completely zombified. The idea of facing a pack full of strange wolves in this state was deeply unappealing.
"Go get dressed and get out of my room!" she shrieked. "I need to look fantastic!" She paused and grabbed my arm before I could move. "Wait, no, stay! I need your opinion!"
I grumbled and stood anyway. "I am going to go get ready and then I will come back."
"Do not be long!" she called after me as I shuffled out of her door.
