Chapter 120 - PART 120— The Way The Night Feels Softer

Dinner had ended.

The staff quietly started clearing the table.

Soft sounds of plates.

Low movements.

Everything calm again.

But Pixel's heartbeat—

still not calm.

Because Stephan—

was STILL holding her hand.

Even after dinner.

Even after everyone got up.

"…Are you planning to leave my hand today or not?"

She whispered while walking beside him.

Stephan (calm)

"No."

"…Your family already saw!"

"…I know."

"…And you're still doing this??"

"…Yes."

Scene 2 — Stevan Appears Again

Suddenly—

Stevan appeared behind them dramatically.

Stevan

"Honestly bhai, just carry her at this point."

Pixel almost choked.

"…STEVAN."

Stevan

"What?? Your hand circulation is gone already."

Stephan looked completely unbothered.

Stephan

"Go away."

Stevan

"No. This is entertaining."

 Mother Calls PixelMother (softly)

"Pixel, come with me for a moment."

Pixel immediately straightened.

"…Yes, aunty."

She tried to move.

Didn't move.

Because Stephan—

still holding her hand.

His mother noticed instantly.

A small smile appeared on her face.

Mother

"Stephan."

Stephan

"Yes?"

Mother

"Release her."

Stevan LOST IT.

Stevan

"RELEASE HER—"

Pixel wanted the floor to open.

Finally—

Stephan let go.

Slowly.

But not before rubbing his thumb once against her hand.

She looked at him instantly.

He looked completely calm.

Which made it worse.

 Mother & Pixel Alone

His mother took her toward another sitting area.

Warm lighting.

Quiet atmosphere.

Pixel sat carefully.

Still nervous again.

Mother (gentle smile)

"You don't need to be so tense around us."

Pixel

"I'm trying not to be…"

His mother looked at her for a long moment.

Then softly—

Mother

"He hasn't looked at anyone the way he looks at you."

Pixel froze.

Mother

"For three years…"

A pause.

"…our home felt quiet."

"…Even when he was here."

Her eyes softened.

"…Today is the first day it feels alive again."

Pixel's eyes lowered slightly.

Because she could hear the sincerity.

The Emotional TruthMother

"You know what scared me the most?"

Pixel looked up quietly.

Mother (soft, emotional)

"That he stopped caring about himself."

"…He worked."

"…He handled meetings."

"…He spoke when necessary."

"…But emotionally…"

A pause.

"…he disappeared."

Pixel's fingers tightened slightly together.

Because she knew.

She had felt the same emptiness.

 The Acceptance

His mother reached forward gently.

Held Pixel's hand.

Mother

"So don't think we accepted you because of obligation."

"…We accepted you because you matter to him."

A pause.

"…And because I can already see…"

A small smile.

"…he matters to you just as much."

Pixel's eyes filled slightly.

Not from sadness.

From relief.

 Parallel Scene

Meanwhile—

outside the room.

Stevan leaned dramatically toward Stephan.

Stevan

"You're smiling again."

💀✨

Stephan

"Am I?"

Stevan

"This much? It's actually scary."

Stephan

"Shut up."

Stevan

"No seriously, the staff is terrified."

One nearby servant immediately looked away trying not to laugh.

Stevan

"See??"

 Father & Stephan

His father approached quietly.

Father

"You've changed."

Stephan looked at him.

Stephan

"I know."

Father

"No."

A pause.

"…You came back."

Silence.

Then—

Father (firm)

"Don't disappear again."

Stephan

"I won't."

And this time—

his father believed him.

Stephan Finds Pixel Again

Later—

Pixel stepped out again.

The moment Stephan saw her—

his eyes softened immediately.

Stevan noticed.

Of course.

Stevan

"OH MY GOD THERE IT IS AGAIN."

Pixel

"What?"

Stevan

"That stupid soft expression."

Stephan

"Stevan."

Stevan

"Okay okay I'm leaving. Continue your staring competition."

He disappeared dramatically.

The Quiet Romantic Moment

Now it was quieter.

Just them.

Stephan walked closer.

"…What did mom say?"

Pixel looked at him softly.

"…She said…"

A pause.

"…the house felt alive today."

Something changed in his expression.

Very small.

But deep.

Stephan (quietly)

"It's because you're here."

Silence again.

That dangerous soft silence.

 Kiss Scene

"…You keep saying things like that suddenly."

"…And you keep getting shy suddenly."

"…I am not shy."

"…Really?"

He stepped closer.

Closer.

Now barely any space.

Pixel's heartbeat instantly betrayed her.

Stephan (low voice)

"Your heart disagrees."

"…Stop noticing that."

"…Can't."

His fingers lifted slightly—

tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

Slow.

Gentle.

Then—

he leaned down.

This kiss wasn't rushed.

It was soft.

Lingering.

A kiss against her forehead first.

Then her cheek.

And finally—

very gently—

the corner of her lips.

Pixel's fingers immediately grabbed his shirt slightly.

Not stopping him.

Just…

holding.

When he pulled back—

their foreheads rested lightly together.

And for the first time in years—

both of them felt peaceful.

(Because sometimes—

love isn't loud.

Sometimes—

it's just someone finally looking at you—

like they found home again.)

 Leaving His House

It was already late.

The house had grown quieter.

Staff moving softly.

Lights dimmer now.

Stephan walked beside Pixel toward the entrance.

His mother insisted twice that she stay the night.

Stevan insisted ten times.

But Pixel still decided to go home.

Mostly because she was overwhelmed.

And everyone knew it.

 The Car Ride

The drive was calm.

Soft city lights outside.

Silence inside the car.

But not uncomfortable silence.

The kind—

that comes after an emotional day.

Pixel looked outside quietly.

Thinking.

Too much.

Stephan noticed immediately.

Of course he did.

Stephan

"You're thinking again."

Pixel

"No."

Stephan

"You always look outside when you lie."

She looked at him instantly.

"…Why do you notice everything?"

"…Because it's you."

She looked away again.

Trying to hide the smile.

Outside Her Apartment

They finally reached her building.

But neither moved immediately.

Because neither wanted the day to end.

Pixel unbuckled her seatbelt slowly.

Then suddenly paused.

"…Wait."

Stephan

"What?"

"…I need milk."

He stared at her.

"…Right now?"

"…Yes."

A pause.

"…Can you come with me to the convenience store?"

The Convenience Store

Five minutes later—

they were walking through a small convenience store together.

Pixel holding a basket.

Pretending to focus seriously on milk.

While Stephan just watched her.

Amused.

Stephan

"You could've bought this tomorrow."

Pixel

"No."

"…Why?"

"…Because we're already here."

He smiled slightly.

But didn't push further.

The Slow Walk Back

They walked back slowly.

Too slowly.

Neither mentioning it.

Because both knew—

they were delaying goodbye.

The SECOND Excuse

They reached her building again.

This time she stepped out.

Took two steps.

Then suddenly stopped again.

"…Wait."

Stephan leaned against the car door.

Already suspicious.

Stephan

"What now?"

"…I think I should buy bread too."

Silence.

Then—

he laughed.

Actually laughed.

Not softly.

Not lightly.

A real laugh.

Pixel blinked.

Because hearing him laugh like that—

still felt rare.

 He Finally Calls Her Out

He walked closer slowly.

Stopped right in front of her.

Stephan (low, amused)

"You think I can't understand?"

Pixel froze slightly.

"…Understand what?"

He leaned closer.

Stephan

"You just don't want me to leave."

Her heartbeat instantly reacted.

"…That's not true."

"…Then why do we suddenly need milk and bread at midnight?"

She tried to answer.

Failed.

Because honestly—

he was right.

 The Truth Comes Out Softly

"…I just…"

She looked down slightly.

"…didn't want today to end yet."

The teasing disappeared from his face instantly.

Because that line—

was too honest.

Too soft.

They Walk Again

So once again—

they walked toward the convenience store.

This time slower.

No pretending now.

Just together.

Pixel holding the bread absentmindedly.

While Stephan walked beside her quietly.

 The Conversation Turns Serious

"…Now everything is good."

Stephan said softly after a while.

Pixel looked ahead.

Then shook her head slightly.

Pixel

"No."

He looked at her immediately.

Stephan

"What?"

She stopped walking.

The playful warmth from before—

slowly fading.

Pixel (quietly)

"Now it's going to become more dangerous."

 The Fear Returns

Stephan's expression changed slightly.

Stephan

"Dangerous?"

She nodded slowly.

Pixel

"Before… it was just us."

"…Now it's families."

"…Expectations."

"…Society."

A pause.

"…Arranged marriage."

"…Caste."

The word stayed between them heavily.

Her Real Fear

"…Your family accepted me."

"…But mine…"

She stopped.

Her fingers tightened around the bread packet.

"…It won't be easy."

"…Not at all."

Stephan watched her quietly.

Because this fear—

was real.

Not dramatic.

Not imaginary.

Real.

The Emotional TruthPixel (soft, vulnerable)

"What if they don't even try to understand?"

"…What if they already chose someone?"

"…What if they think I'm selfish?"

Her voice lowered more.

"…What if I lose them…"

That line—

hurt differently.

Because Pixel—

loved deeply.

Not just him.

Her family too.

Stephan's Response

He stepped closer.

Slowly.

Stephan (quiet, firm)

"Look at me."

She slowly did.

Stephan

"We'll handle it."

"…Together."

She looked at him silently.

Pixel

"You make everything sound easy."

Stephan

"No."

A pause.

"…I just know losing you would be harder."

Her eyes softened instantly.

Because no matter how scared she was—

that line reached her.

Final Moment

The street was quiet.

Small convenience store lights glowing behind them.

And in the middle of all the fear—

they still stood together.

Holding on.

Ending

Because love becomes more frightening—

when it finally becomes real.

Not because feelings weaken.

But because now—

there's something precious enough to lose.
