"You haven't answered my question, Alex?" Eva said again, her voice sharper this time, pressing further as though she refused to let the matter drop.
She stood there, watching me closely, waiting for an answer that I was honestly not in the mood to give. The way she kept pushing made it clear she wasn't going to back down easily. This woman was clearly becoming a pest, always twisting every simple moment into something complicated.
I exhaled slowly, trying to steady myself before responding.
"Can't I address my baby like that, Eva?" I asked, deliberately keeping my tone controlled, though there was a tight edge underneath it as I tried to take control of the situation. "It is my baby we are talking about here, and that is my way of bonding with it." I added, watching her reaction carefully.
Eva's expression shifted immediately, her eyes narrowing as if she was offended by the explanation I had just given her.
