Chapter 1 - I Died.... I Think?

Either I've died or I missed the whole transmigration starter pack that I should have gotten. No omnipotent god giving me the low down or choice of universe; just one minute I'm asleep in my be and the next I'm jerking awake lying on the cold hard streets of the New York City.

Not a fun way to wake up in just your underwear and PJ bottoms. Thank god I don't sleep naked. I'd say its about 6 am as of sitting up. Where in NYC you might; in which universe? Big questions that needed to be answered. But first and foremost. "System? Golden finger? Anything....?" I asked aloud.

"Shit" I thought to myself. Well that sucked but maybe its a more subtle power like a mutant or magical ability that I needed to either awaken or grow. But who's to say that I haven't just transmigrated to a universe with everything just the same as my normal mundane universe? What's the quickest way to find out what's the latest worldly gossip of the side of a NYC street so early?

Newspaper vendors. It didn't take me too long to find Gabriel news-stand. It did however make me look like a bit of a weirdo when I asked him what the date was and has anything interesting happened around the world at 6:56am in my PJ's on the street looking like I just rolled out of bed.

Turns out after some careful probing from Gabriel that the date is May 2, 2012 and that I'm quite literally in NYC at quite nearly the worst time ever in recorded history. Why you might ask? It's the bloody MCU. And the news is currently reporting as of yesterday that a of a man In green and gold attire facing off at a prestigious event against S.H.I.EL.D, Ironman and the usual cast of characters.

So game plan: I'm no comic book nerd, no offence to the comic book lovers as I was a more of a movie enjoyer myself; so I'm limited by what I know movie wise pretty much, so we're talking over arching plot points. If they've just captured Loki yesterday that means Thor will have already come and had their showdown in miscellaneous woods wherever the fuck that was.

Logically I've got maybe a few days if we go on the assumption that the movie wasn't literally one thing directly after the other...… Hopefully that is. So I've got 3 options.

Option 1 is that i show up at stark towers and look like a raving lunatic saying enough in the know keywords to hopefully get the attention of someone: hopefully Pepper or Happy and not the NYC Police force and use my fore knowledge to keep myself hopefully out of NYC to avoid the clusterfuck that is the Chitauri Invasion. Not a particularly good plan in my opinion as Io could easily get me sent to a padded cell with no nice view to go with it.

Option 2 is try and just leave on foot with whatever I can get at a homeless shelter perhaps. And just try and walk out of NYC. Not the best but not the worst.

Option 3 is one I like the most. Find the NYC Sanctum.

Option 3 is a manyfold plan wrapped nicely into one big bundle. First off; the safest possible place to be if you are in NYC during an alien invasion led by a God, Secondly having all this foreknowledge in my head with no protection is not a smart idea. Think of all the things if an organization like Hydra got a hold of my memories or even aliens that wish earth harm in general, perhaps a certain big bad purple alien comes to mind straight away? Not to say anything of perhaps learning actual fucking magic!

So how the fuck do you find the Sanctum you might ask? No Clue. I know its a fancy looking building surrounded by other similar fancy looking buildings. And since Doctor Strange hasn't made his official debut to the public eye I don't have much to go on at this point but to ask Gabirel here where I might find some historical fancy buildings to look at.

He manged to list of a few areas that I might be looking for but once he said "Greenwich Village" something in the back of my head tickled my brain in the right way for me to decide to start there.
