Chapter 176 New Experiment
"I…" Yu Miaomiao was hesitating and about to make up her identity when Li Xiangyanginterrupted her.
"You're not new here, are you? Didn't your training course say you weren't allowed to enter the lab without permission? This is a sterile environment... You haven't touched anything here without permission, have you?"
Muttering to himself, Li Xiangyang looked around at the equipment around Yu Miaomiaoand was relieved to find no signs of being touched. Just as he was about to say a few more words and let the little girl leave, he heard footsteps outside.
Yu Miaomiao naturally heard the commotion as well, and the people in the shadows also became tense.
Lu An had already extended a dark hand, ready to cast a water-based shield on Yu Miaomiao at any moment.
Yu Miaomiao took a step forward to block Li Xiangyang's view and took Lu An's hand in the process. The warmth from her palm helped them both suppress their nervousness.
"It's nothing," she whispered to Lu An, before Lu An hesitated and withdrew his arm.
She was thinking that hiding in the space right infront of Li Xiangyang shouldn't be a big problem. In the blink of an eye, Li Xiangyang had already grabbed Yu Miaomiao and stuffed her into a storage cabinet in the corner of the laboratory.
"Don't make a sound." Her heart tightened, worried that it would cause unnecessary trouble, so she didn't dare to make a sound and justnodded to Li Xiangyang.
She stole a glance at Li Xiangyang and saw a serious expression on his face.
He probably genuinely wanted to help her avoid it.
Although she was a little uneasy, she had no other choice at the moment and could only let Li Xiangyang close the cabinet door and even lock it.
The lock clicked crisply. Was this lock meant to protect Yu Miaomiao, or... to trap her?
The locker was cramped and filled with the smell of laboratory equipment and reagents. Yu Miaomiao held her breath, trying her best not to make any noise.
Listening to the commotion outside, she wasn't actually panicked, because she always had a way out: space.
The footsteps grew closer, followed by the sound of a door opening. Through the crack in the locker, Yu Miaomiao saw Li Xiangyangtalking to someone wearing a white lab coat.
She couldn't see the person's face clearly, but from their conversation, she could tell that the person was the head of the laboratory.
" Li Xiangyang, what are you still doing here? Have you finished what I told you to do?" The man's voice was somewhat stern.
"I've come to get some reagents. The new experiment will require these."
Li Xiangyang's voice sounded a little nervous, but he tried his best to remain calm.
"What reagents? Didn't I tell you not to keep bringing up new experiments? Why don't you remember?" The person in charge's voice was authoritative without being angry.
"Well, our team has some new ideas recently and wants to try them out first. Don't worry, we will strictly follow the laboratory's regulations,"Li Xiangyang explained.
The person in charge was silent for a moment, then said, "Okay, but you need to be careful. A sterile environment is very important. Don't let just anyone in; these are very important vaccines being cultivated here. Do you understand?"
"Yes, yes. Don't worry, I'll be careful," Li Xiangyang quickly agreed.
Hearing this, Yu Miaomiao breathed a sigh of relief.
But the man didn't leave immediately after saying that; instead, he strode towards her.
Yu Miaomiao looked out from the hole, ready to flash into the space at any moment.
Li Xiangyang's voice continued, but it sounded so distant to Yu Miaomiao at that moment: "By the way, Director Liu, what do you think of this month's budget..."
"I'll handle the budget. Your main task now is to ensure the experiment proceeds smoothly." The person in charge's voice gradually faded away. When Yu Miaomiao looked out through the hole, the person in charge had already turned away from her.
