Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Shiro First Interaction

Chapter 2

The being stood in front of Shiro, its gaze sharp and unwavering.

"What are you doing here?"

Shiro looked at it.

But no answer came.

The sounds reached him clear, structured… meaningful.

And yet he could not respond.

Silence.

A long one.

The girl's expression shifted.

First confusion.

Then irritation.

Then anger.

Her eyes moved down.

She froze for a split second.

Then her face flushed red.

"Why are you… naked?!"

Her voice rose sharply, filled with frustration.

Shiro didn't react.

Not to her words.

Not to her anger.

But something inside him clicked.

The sounds began to align.

Patterns formed.

Meaning… started to take shape.

He could understand.

Not fully.

But enough.

Speaking, however was still impossible.

Without a word, Shiro stepped past her.

That made it worse.

Her anger snapped.

She turned and kicked him.

Hard.

The impact landed directly on his side.

A second strike followed instantly.

Then another.

Shiro's body was thrown back.

Bones shifted under the force micro fractures forming beneath the surface.

But something else happened.

His body… responded.

The damage didn't disappear.

But it lessened.

Adjusted.

Redistributed.

Another hit.

Another.

Again.

Time passed.

Not seconds.

Minutes.

The attacks didn't stop.

Kicks. Strikes. Blows.

Over.

And over.

And over again.

Forty minutes.

At first, his body only endured.

Then it learned.

The rhythm.

The speed.

The weight behind each strike.

His muscles adapted.

His reflexes sharpened.

His perception expanded.

He began to move.

Slightly at first.

Then more.

He started to avoid them.

One by one.

At the same time

the words reached him again.

Clearer now.

He understood her.

Almost all attacks missed now.

Every movement calculated.

Every reaction precise.

The girl stopped.

Breathing heavily.

Her frustration turned into something else.

Focus.

She reached for something at her side.

A sword.

The moment she drew it

Shiro moved.

A single motion.

Fast.

Efficient.

The sword flew from her hand before she could react.

Her eyes widened.

But she didn't stop.

She clenched her fist.

All her strength gathered into one point.

Then

she struck.

The impact connected.

Directly.

For a moment

Shiro's body froze.

Signals stopped.

Movement ceased.

His entire system… paused.

Paralyzed.

But only for a moment.

Then

it adapted.

The sensation returned.

Faster than before.

Shiro moved.

He repeated the motion.

The same stance.

The same force.

The same intention.

His fist struck her.

The impact sent through her entire body.

Not just force

but structure.

A perfect replication.

She collapsed instantly.

Her body unable to respond.

Silence.

She lay on the ground.

Motionless.

Shiro looked at her.

No emotion.

No hesitation.

The threat was gone.

So he walked.

The sky shifted above him.

Colors he had never seen before spread across the horizon.

He stopped.

His eyes widened slightly.

The sun was setting.

Light bent across the sky in shades of gold, orange, and deep red.

For the first time

he stared.

Something unfamiliar moved within him.

Not instinct.

Not calculation.

Something else.

Then another presence.

He turned.

Someone stood there.

Another girl.

She looked at him

and unlike the first

there was no immediate hostility.

Only curiosity.

Shiro hesitated.

Then

he spoke.

Slowly.

Broken.

"Who… are… you…?"

The words were unstable.

Incomplete.

She blinked.

Then smiled slightly.

"Layla. And you?"

Shiro paused.

The word surfaced again.

"Shi…ro."

She laughed softly.

"That's a beautiful name."

Shiro looked at her.

Then he smiled.

Slightly.

Then suddenly her expression changed.

Her eyes widened.

Her face turned red again.

"WHY ARE YOU NAKED?!"

Only now

she had noticed.

Her gaze had been drawn first to his white hair.

His blue eyes.

The rest came after.

Shiro tilted his head slightly.

"What… is… naked?"

She froze.

Silence.

Something clicked in her mind.

He didn't know.

Not just the word.

The world.

She looked at him again.

Carefully this time.

"How old are you?"

Shiro paused.

Then a fragment surfaced.

"Eleven."

She studied him for a moment.

Then nodded slowly.

He looked the part.

"I'm ten. Nice to meet you."

She turned.

Then looked back. Then she got him clothes. After that she said

"Come with me."

She reached for his hand

and pulled him along.

They walked.

Not far.

A structure appeared ahead.

Ancient.

Quiet.

A temple.

Inside stood an old man.

Watching.

Waiting.

His eyes rested on Shiro.

For a long moment.

Then he spoke:

"So… this is him."

He turned to Layla.

"Teach him everything about this world."

Layla's face lit up.

"Really?!"

He nodded.

Four years passed.

Shiro learned.

Everything.

Language.

Behavior.

The structure of the world.

Especially Japanese.

One day Layla stood beside him, smiling.

"You've learned so much. I'm really happy."

She turned, excited.

"Today there's an archery tournament. Let's go watch!"

They went.

An hour passed.

One of the participants drew his bow.

Released.

But slipped.

The arrow changed direction.

Straight toward Layla.

No hesitation.

Shiro moved.

His hand extended forward.

Something appeared.

A chain.

Long.

Formed from nothing.

It intercepted the arrow.

Stopped it instantly.

Then it vanished.

Silence.

Everyone stared.

"What… was that?"

Layla spoke quickly:

"It was just luck!"

Murmurs spread.

Then faded.

Night fell.

The air grew quiet.

Shiro stood beside Layla.

"Layla… it is difficult… but I have to go."

She froze.

"What…?"

Her voice shook.

"Can I change your decision?"

Shiro shook his head.

"No."

Tears formed in her eyes.

He stepped closer.

Tried to comfort her.

Then turned.

He packed his things.

And walked away.

Behind him her voice broke.

"Come back… Shiro!"

He didn't stop.

But he answered.

"I will come back. I promise."

She cried.

She couldn't even say it.

That she had fallen in love with him.

Four years.

Silence.
