Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Mo Family

"Young Master Mo Xuanye, please wake up, your father Lord Mo Tianlong and your mother Mo Lianhua are waiting for you in the courtyard of the Clan Main Hall, today is the day of the Spiritual Origins Test, the entire clan has already gathered and everyone is waiting for your arrival."

Mo Xuanye rubbed his eyes and muttered, "Is it this early?" his voice still heavy with sleep, as he glanced around, the room he was in was quite luxurious, adorned with finely crafted wooden furniture, soft silk curtains, and a calm atmosphere filled with faint spiritual energy, clearly reflecting its richness.

The maid spoke, "Young Master, normally there was still an hour before the test would begin, however, your uncle, the Clan Leader, has moved the time forward," her voice was respectful yet slightly uneasy, even she could not fully predict the consequences of this sudden change, and the atmosphere in the room grew tense for a moment.

Mo Xuanye, with a sleepy face, frowned slightly in irritation and asked, "Why was neither my family nor I informed of this?" his voice was low but carried a suppressed anger, and the coldness in his eyes clearly showed his displeasure.

The servant did not speak, nor was it necessary, the silence alone was more than enough to explain everything, as the atmosphere in the room grew heavy, even that quietness was painfully clear.

"That foolish old man is acting like a child, am I the one who is five years old here, or is it him?" he thought to himself, a faint coldness appearing on his face, his gaze gradually sharpening, even the remnants of sleep could not suppress his irritation.

"No matter how trivial the matter is, he uses every possible way to put me in a difficult position or humiliate me," he continued thinking, fully aware that this was no coincidence, everything felt deliberately planned.

Although his relationship with his uncle Mo Tianyang was cold, it was not hostile, at least not until last year, when it was revealed during the test that his cousin Mo Yanfeng only possessed Ordinary Spiritual Roots, from that moment, the invisible line between them became clear.

Mo Yanfeng's mother was an ordinary woman, no one knew how she had met his uncle, and the topic was rarely spoken of within the clan, however, she died during childbirth, and because of this, Mo Tianyang was extremely attached to his son, almost to the point of blind devotion.

And I, as the second young master of the family, whether I realized it or not, had become the greatest obstacle threatening his son's position, and this truth had slowly begun to change everything.

After all, everyone in the clan knew very well that his uncle Mo Tianyang wanted the Clan Leader's seat and its inheritance to pass to his own son, and this made many people uncomfortable, especially my father, to the point where it had gradually become an open point of conflict.

Although my uncle was not satisfied with my father, my parents were not people who could be easily overlooked, my father, as a high-level Nascent Soul Realm expert, was one of the main pillars of the Mo family, and my mother, even from the background, was equally powerful and influential, making it far from easy for my uncle to act openly.

Letting out a sigh, he said to the maid, "Alright, you may go, I will prepare and come, I won't be late," his voice now calmer, the earlier irritation replaced by a faint seriousness.

The maid bowed respectfully and left the room, as the door slowly closed, a brief silence settled inside.

I then lifted my small body from the bed and first headed to the small yet luxurious bathroom within the room, I washed myself thoroughly with warm water, as the last traces of sleep washed away, my mind became clearer, afterward, I dressed in clean and elegant clothes and stepped in front of the mirror.

As I looked into the mirror, the reflection made me pause for a moment, delicate and refined facial features, long dark hair falling to my shoulders with soft waves that shimmered faintly under the light, large and striking violet eyes, deep and vivid like a clear sky, smooth fair skin, and the white, elegant cultivation robe I wore was adorned with golden details, while the purple embroidered belt around my waist added a noble aura, despite my small body, there was a natural grace and an eye-catching charm, truly, I could be considered quite a beautiful child.

After admiring myself a little more, I finally stepped away from the mirror, taking small steps as I left the room and headed toward the courtyard, as I observed the surrounding scenery, the faint fragrance of flowers and the subtle flow of spiritual energy brought a sense of calm, after a few steps, I arrived at the nearest teleportation portal.

Although the Mo Family was referred to as a single "family," in reality, it was a massive structure that housed hundreds of smaller families beneath it, its domain spanning hundreds of billions of kilometers, such a scale was unimaginable to ordinary people, if I had tried to reach the main courtyard with my small body on foot, let alone arriving, even my lifespan would likely not have been enough, which is why teleportation portals were one of the clan's most essential means of transportation.

When Mo Xuanye arrived at the teleportation portal, there were thousands of people lined up in long queues, the crowd constantly moving, some were using it to travel within the vast territories of the Mo Family, while others were waiting to go to different regions of the Tianxing Empire, and the surroundings were filled with a low murmur and fluctuations of dense spiritual energy.

Of course, using the portal was not free, depending on the distance, a fee ranging from 1 Low-Grade Spirit Stone to 5 Low-Grade Spirit Stones was required, while this amount was insignificant for higher-level experts, it was considered quite burdensome for those of lower realms.

Most of the people who used these portals were generally experts in the Xiantian Realm or the Yuan Foundation Realm, for those in the Houthi Realm, the cost was often too high to afford, so they rarely used it, on the other hand, for experts above the Yuan Foundation Realm, traveling across the Tianxing Empire was merely a matter of time, making their reliance on such portals much less frequent.

Mo Xuanye walked past the crowd without entering the line, moving through everyone effortlessly, as a member of the Mo Family's main bloodline, he neither needed to queue nor pay any fee, this privilege was a clear indication of his status.

The guards standing at the entrance of the portal were startled the moment they saw him and immediately bowed respectfully, "Young Master Mo Xuanye!" they called out, their voices filled with both respect and cautious seriousness.

I responded with a slight nod, then stepped into the portal without hesitation, the moment I entered, I felt a surge of dense spiritual energy surrounding me, in truth, the only thing I needed to do was simple, to visualize the destination in my mind, and the rest would be handled automatically by the portal.

When I opened my eyes again, I found myself at the teleportation point closest to the main courtyard, just as I was about to take a step forward, a shadow appeared in front of me at an incredible speed, far beyond what an ordinary person could perceive.

The person before me was none other than my father, Mo Tianlong, I was about to respectfully say "Father," when he lightly smiled and touched my shoulder, the moment he did, everything around me blurred, and in an instant, we disappeared from that place.

When I opened my eyes again, we were already in a completely different location, it was the testing ground, a vast and orderly courtyard surrounded by tall structures and platforms, hundreds of children were gathered around, their ages ranging from five to seven, each of them showing different emotions, some excited, some nervous, and others watching their surroundings with fear-filled eyes.
