Chapter 1 - Toxic heart's, Quiet night's

The night he touched me, the rain didn't ask the sky for permission either. It fell hard, reckless, unforgiving just like him. I should have walked away. I should have locked the door. But darkness has a way of whispering your name until it sounds like destiny.

He didn't look at me like I was something to love. He looked at me like something to claim.

And the terrifying part?

A part of me wanted to be claimed.

Love never knocked. It never waited.

It broke in

and I let it.

The air was heavy that night, thick with something unspoken. Every breath felt stolen, every second stretched too tight. His presence wasn't loud, but it was everywhere in the space between my thoughts, in the pulse beneath my skin.

I told myself it was wrong. That desire shouldn't feel like surrender. That warmth shouldn't burn. But his touch didn't ask what I believed. It didn't care about rules or consequences.

It lingered.

And somewhere between fear and fascination, I stopped pretending I wanted him gone.

A gentle knock on the glass door and a step into the office.

"Jira" a voice said.

Jira: ohh.. Kavin

Kavin: Closing time! Don't tell me you're planning to stay longer.

Jira: I've been working on a new design recently and I can't just decide how to make the color blend with the pattern of the dress.

Kavin: Let me see *He said, stepping closer standing behind me*

Jira: Here..

Kavin: I think you should change square pattern to heart shape, it makes it a bit cute.

Jira: Okay?

Kavin: And as for the colour...

Jira: Red?

Kavin: Uhh.... Okay.

I stood up from my chair, tidying the scattered papers on my desk. I slipped my laptop into my bag, giving the table one last quick look to make sure I didn't forget anything.

Jira: Thanks

Kavin: Your welcome *he smiled warmly*

They walked out of the company premises.

Jira: Wait-it's raining? I didn't even notice.

Kavin: Would you like me to drop you off at your condo? Getting a taxi might be difficult in this rain?

Jira: It's okay, I don't want to be a burden to you.

Kavin: No!!

* He removed his jacket and wrap it round me*

Kavin: Here, hold this.

Before I could respond, he dashed out into the rain. A few minutes later, he pulled back up in his car.

Kavin: Hop in?

Time dragged on, but at last, we arrived at my condo.

Kavin: We are here?

Maki: Thanks *I said as I stepped out* While don't you come in, you're all soaked?

Kavin: I'm okay *He poked his head out of the car window*

Jira: You will get a cold because of me, let me repay me

Kavin: No need, You have already repaid me

Jira: How?

Kavin: By letting me hit on you.

Jira: I'm serious, let me treat you to dinner tomorrow?

Kavin: Okay.

Jira: It's settled then, Good night

Kavin: Good night *he waved at her*

With a quick turn, his car was heading away, ready to leave.

Jira: Wait... *I sighed* you forgot your jacket, I guess I'll give his tomorrow.

I stepped into the elevator and made my way to my condo. Stopping at the door, I froze someone had already opened it.

Jira: What?

I pushed the door open
