SODOM.
The city at the edge truly!
Vast beyond measure but void of life completely. It was strange anomaly, that was impossible to explain. Made of a combination of different architectures, but that was not what was the star of the show. Nothing like how Adonis imagined a city in desert would look like. Beyond the city was a mountainous range with no end, that seemed to mark the end of the desert. Mountains that seem to dwarf anything he has seen before. They did not merely rise from the earth. They ascended beyond sight, disappearing into the endless ocean of stars, as though they were the pillars upon which the universe had once been raised. Their faces were scarred by ages older than history, their shadows swallowing half the desert in perpetual dusk. What was was more absurd was the flourishing green on the range, he could almost see dears running in the mountainous forest. A forest that extended beyond the skies. The stagnant sun helped to stake his claim of what sort of plane he has found himself.
Apollo's domain. He internally contemplated, struck again by confusion. In the middle of the arch at the entrance of Sodom was an eerily oasis. It's pure waters reflected stars that burned without number. Nebulae that bloomed like celestial fires. Vast planets that hung impossibly close, with their rings carving silent arcs across eternity, bathing the wasteland in alien light.
Adonis turn backwards to re-check whether his eyes where working. Beyond the shadows where the sun had a domain, he looked deeply into the endless wasteland and wondered whether he would be able to make it out of desert nightmare alive. He was suddenly felt Zero changing his body's posture and immediately snapped his head towards him. Zero started walking towards the oasis languidly.
"This journey is unidirectional one, you only have 2 more chances to look back. You just used up your first chance, plus if you want to check what would happen if you use it all up-By all means please do."His voice in a way echoed in an off way that brought a chill to Adonis's body.
Zero continued walking towards the oasis in careless but sexy manner.
"Hey outcast your body is healed, you know all your wounds are healed right?"
.....
"Was that the earlier warmth? My entire bone structure was destroyed!!
How?
No the question was when.."Adonis never really questioned the times he could turn his head. More like it was what movement could a human-slug possibly achieve in the sinking desert sand. As the thought passed through his mind, the earlier shock immediately vanished.
"Did you heal me?" He started dazed at Zero.
"Maybe.."
"Why not answer my question first? Nothing will come out from you if could be plain with me."
"Nothing will good come out of it yet, trust me." Zero turned sideways looking at him directly from the corner of his eyes, still languidly walking towards the oasis that occupied the central of the arch.
To Adonis the haunting silver eyes where warning him on his words, it was like there was wraith behind him with scythe to his neck, like the next words from his mouth will be blasphemy. Adonis nervously gulped, but the lump couldn't quite go down properly.
Zero stopped staring at him and continued walking towards his goal.
Adonis started breathing heavily, like he has been holding his breath. The feeling of a scythe to his neck wasn't there anymore. Adonis felt like slapping myself, his closest speculation of Zero was a god, then way on earth did he think it was a good idea to overly question him.
Zero finally got to the edge of the oasis, looking at his horrid reflection. The reflection didn't have his hair, eyes or a face just a swarming mass of worms. Worms that looked like they where soaked in liquid silver, all swarming together in an almost humanoid shape. It had its back turn to him, only if Adonis was here to see it. All of a sudden the reflection disappeared, the enigma didn't have a reflection in the water. A sullen mood overwhelmed him as he continued looking at the waters. After that he deeply sighed and lifted his left hand a little and telekinetically motioned for Adonis to float by his side.
"Not shocked outcast?" Zero smirked mischievously.
Adonis kept silent, look directly towards him.
"Don't tell me your not suprised your floating outcast?" He continued questioning mischievously, all the while circling him like someone inspecting a sacrifice.
"Permission to speak Divine?" Adonis said in a soulless tone as if he believed Zero couldn't pick up the hidden sacarcm in his tone.
"Hahhhaaaha, ohh your really an interesting ant. Okay permission granted." Zero said with a gleeful tone.
"Well brother, I'm the prince of Evore. My father is a demigod, you don't think I've never seen a form of telekinesis before my lord?" Adonis spoke in the same tone as earlier.
"Okay Mr dreamer." He said while raising his hand in mock surrender while laughing. His smile regaining it's earlier monstrous aspect.
"Muvan foki mo.
Dreamer-Dreamer-Dreamer!!"
He cackled maniacally.
"Little outcast, I don't know whether to call you the luckiest person in Eon or the most pitiful." The venom in his voice was suffocating, more confusing it was without direction.
Adonis POV
Dream...
Dream,dream, dream.
The thought continously circled my my mind. Dream??
My being was scared of coming to a conclusion. First of how did I know his name, why am I not panicked at all.
"ADONIS!!"
I looked towards the enigma, although floating possibly weightless there was this heaviness that weighed on me. Like my spirit was weighing on me.
"It's the corruption that deep?" He questioned out loud, looked at me curiously. I was certain the question was not directed at me that was for certain.
'That word again.
Corruption corruption corruption.
Nothing was making sense, but at the same time I felt I understand. Like I was standing in front of the truth but couldn't see it still'
The urge to scratch my head came up, the itchiness there also multiplied tenfold.
'An itch to scratch but no hands. If it's my life they want let them take it. I remember he said something about sacrifice.'
I looked at him in desperation, the itch was getting unbearable. More than unbearable, I couldn't even think, if I was on the ground I would have tried scratching my head with the sand. Everything just felt like he planned it.
"Outer god" I struggled to say.
"Hmmm"
"Outer god, Zero, Cthulhu uhhh dreams.
Cough-cough.
Knowledge, men.
Please make it stop." I stammered while crying. I was already praying, no hoping.
I was hoping for it to be like a secret code to stop the pain.
The itch..
"Please make it stop. Please-please" I begged. I had to, but I don't think my soulless company had any zeal to help. He just maintained the same eye level as me, mockingly looked at me.
"You still haven't got it? Are we that diluted." He contemplated
"We?"
"Yes we. But in this case it's different. First off.."
The more the handsome evil fool kept on looking at me as an experiment.
"You truly are blank aren't you." Zero said in comic realization.
"Cannn you help me, rather than this!!"
"Watch your tone."
So I have to manage pain in silence again because of someone for powerful. The added frustration of the itchiness and the absurdity of my present state.
'Now I think about it, it's either death or something worse. What's the use of adherence.' With that thought, I spat directly on his face.
Zero as if nothing happened, even as the spit was on his hair, continued talking.
"It's OUTER GOD. LERUN EON" Zero and the sidelined mouth at my belly said at the same time. I immediately snapped up my head to look at him in shock. Looking at the near identical smile he had with the oddity on my body, like a bowl of ice water had been poured on me.
Everything in my own way suddenly made sense. I watched as his stoic face returned, he started removing his robes and bisht until the giant of a man was standing completely naked in front of me. His entire body filled with weird tattoos that seemed to move. Which was odd, because his bisht didn't necessarily hide his sinful body, but there wasn't any tattoos. I still had to dismiss the finding again, to atleast reduce the migraine.
"Your answers are beyond the waters, your healing too is there." His parting words before he and the ever quiet rat completely immersed themselves into it an disappeared. At the same time the telekinetic bubble gently dropped me down of the desert floor. There was this urge to look behind me and run away. More like crawl away, but I didn't push his earlier warnings out the window. I crawled towards the oasis, looking at the crystal clear waters, I couldn't see either of them. Especially since I could see the floor of the oasis already.
I looked towards my reflection and saw a multitude of me's. Weird looking different versions of myself, none of the worm me. I looked back immediately to see a female smiling face that looked the the white makeup of the Yamato people, staring directly into my eyes. The shock of suddenly seeing another person, especially that close, finally registered. I scooted away in panic, I could now properly see the disgusting creatures of blood, organs and salt that looked straight at me, smiling widely with her yellow nail like teeth. I was already at the edge of the water, my agitation made me fall into the water. I looked up to still see her looking at me eerily straight in the eyes as I drown deeper and deeper into the water.
Then there was light...
