Two weeks passed and the agency was back to normal except Jane couldn't stop thinking about Liam and Liam couldn't stop thinking about her. They bumped into each other occasionally but mostly Jane kept to herself. Regarding the mission Jane wanted to ask so many questions from the man but Director Cha refused and she could do nothing but oblige. Today was the agency's annual retreat. Jane found this retreat a distraction but she had to go last time she didn't Director Cha ghosted her for 2 weeks. The retreat was in the woods this year. As they arrived they set up their tents Jane and Lily were sharing a tent. They set up the tent and say inside it.
Lily: I can't believe you kept this from me you like Liam?
Jane: Yeah I do and I'm telling you because you tell me these things.
Lily: Aww thanks.
Jane: Don't mention it.
Lily: So are you going to tell him?
Jane: No
Lily: Why not come on you can't keep this a secret.
Jane: I don't want a boyfriend Lily it's been a year since I broke up with Felix.
Lily: If that bastard can't handle you it's his problem not yours come on Jane Liam's different he won't judge.
Jane: Neither did Felix but he changed how can I be sure that Liam won't.
Lily: Oh Jane come here.
She wrapped Jane in a hug. Jane hated hugs from anyone except Lily she was the exception.
Jane: Thanks L.
Lily: Anytime J.
At night everybody was talking sitting around the campfire. No one noticed that Liam wasn't there but Jane did so she stood up and walked into the forest worried when she reached the end of the forest she saw Liam sitting on a boulder looking at the sky. Her heart skipped a beat and she slowly made her way towards him. She sat down on the boulder beside him.
Jane: Hey...
Liam: Hi what are you doing here?
Jane: I was just walking around (A lie) what about you?
Liam: I was admiring the view.
Jane: I'll leave you to it then.
Jane stood up and turned to leave when Liam's hand wrapped around her wrist.
Jane: What are you doing?
Liam: Please wait for a moment I want to tell you something just promise you won't laugh.
Jane turns around to face him and nods. Liam blushes.
Liam: I-I like you.
Jane freezes her eyes wide and her cheeks slightly pink.
Jane: Wh-what?
Liam: I-I like you I have for a long time.
Jane: I like you too.
Liam's breath hitched his body freezes. They both stare at each other and the world stills the only thing that mattered was them.
Liam: Can-can I kiss you?
Jane: Y-yeah you can.
Liam cups her face with his hands and kisses her slow and soft. Jane's hands wrap around his neck. The kiss was everything that couldn't be put into words. When they pulled back Liam smiled and Jane for the first time in her life buried her face in someone's chest in Liam's chest pulling him in a hug. Liam wraps his arms around her resting his chin on the top of her head closing
his eyes and feeling the warmth.
