Blurb
The night has descended over the Bay of Bengal, and the air feels unnaturally heavy. Looking at the black waters of the ocean, it seems as though the darkness isn't just above, but stretches deep below—to places where human eyes can never reach. In the distance, a massive cargo ship moves slowly forward, the low hum of its engine sounding strangely distinct amidst the silence. There is no sleep in the eyes of the sailors standing on the deck; an unknown unease stirs within them, though they cannot quite understand why. Clouds are gathering in the sky, but this is no ordinary sign of a storm—the clouds aren't staying still; they are swirling like a vortex, as if the sky itself has become restless.
Inside the ship, the heavy containers lie silently, yet even within that silence, a suppressed tension remains hidden. A young sailor, staring slowly at the sea, said, "The water looks strange today," his voice laced with hesitation, as if he couldn't believe his own words. Beside him, another sailor tried to laugh it off and dismiss the matter, but the unease in his eyes was unmistakable. Right then, a very subtle vibration was felt beneath the ship—so light that no one gave it importance at first. But within a few seconds, that vibration returned, this time a bit louder, as if something massive was slowly moving underneath the vessel.
The metal floor of the deck began to make faint sounds, and the water beside the ship started to swell unnaturally. The waves were no longer moving at a normal pace; they were heavy, strange, as if someone was pushing them up from the depths. The sailors now looked at each other—no one spoke, but everyone was thinking the same thing. Then, suddenly, everything stopped. The sea became calm again, so calm that the silence began to create a pressure in their ears.
After this silence came the moment that would change everything in their lives. Suddenly, the bosom of the ocean burst open with a massive sound, as if an explosion had occurred from below. Water splashed upward, and from within that spray, a dark silhouette slowly emerged. At first, it was just a shadow, but gradually its shape began to grow clear. A massive head rose above the water, then the shoulders, then that extraordinary body, which was something beyond human imagination. As the ship's lights fell upon that body, it became clear—this was no familiar creature.
The creature stood still, as if observing its surroundings. Its two eyes glowed strangely, but there was no warmth in that light—instead, there was a kind of cold cruelty. The people standing on the ship could no longer compose themselves. Someone whispered, "We have come to the wrong place," and in those words was a strange certainty, as if he knew there was no way back from here. Right then, the creature lifted its head and let out a roar—so deep and powerful that it felt as though the sound was spreading not just through the air, but through the water itself. The ship shuttered, the glass began to vibrate, and many lost their balance.
After the roar, there was no room for doubt—this was no ordinary danger. Panic spread in an instant. Some were screaming, some were running, some were trying to communicate, but everything seemed to be lost in the chaos. That massive creature—which the world would later know as Godzilla—slowly moved toward the ship. Every step he took made the sea turbulent; the waves crashed against the hull of the ship as if nature itself could not stop him.
On the distant shores, people were waking up to strange sounds. They did not know what was happening, but the heaviness of the air and the distant roar made them restless. Some stared at the sea, some tried to hide inside their homes with their families, but an unknown fear was spreading everywhere. The city lights were on, but even that light could not seem to push back the darkness.
Meanwhile, the creature standing in the middle of the sea suddenly became still. The spike-like parts along its back slowly began to glow. At first, it was very faint, then that light gradually grew brighter, as if some energy was gathering inside. A sailor on the ship looked at that scene for one last time; in his eyes were fear, wonder, and a strange helplessness. The moment seemed to have stopped—the sea, the sky, the people—everything was waiting for the next event.
Then, suddenly, that light became even more intense, and in a flash, it illuminated everything around.
No one can say clearly what happened after that light.
But one thing is certain—after that night, the world would never be the same again.
