Chapter 81 - Chapter 81: Peter, Scolded Awake?

Silence—

The air instantly fell into a deathly silence.

Everyone stared blankly at the "ketchup" smeared into the dented tank. No one expected Ryan to be so radical, killing a general over a single disagreement!

General Ross's adjutant was the first to react, screaming frantically, "They killed General Ross! They're Terrorists! Fire! Open fire!"

Seeing their general killed, the soldiers present ignored the regulations against firing on civilians in the city. One by one, they aimed their rifles and tank cannons at the four of them.

That's right—they intended to kill not just Ryan, who had killed General Ross, but Peter, Harry, and even the unconscious Bruce Banner, who had reverted to human form, to avenge their general!

They were an army of avengers!

Already surrounded, there was nowhere for the group to hide from the incoming barrage of fire from both the air and the ground.

But Ryan didn't panic at all. After using his webs to pull Peter, Harry, and Dr. Banner behind him, he spread his arms. The Symbiote on his arms instantly extended, forming a silver-gray sphere around him, protecting himself and the other three inside!

The firepower poured out by the soldiers outside—whether it was the rifle bullets in their hands, the autocannons from the helicopters in the sky, or the shells from the tanks on the ground—only produced sparks or puffs of dust as they struck the silver-gray sphere with its metallic luster. They couldn't break through his defense at all!

Isn't it said that no carbon-based lifeform can withstand the attack of thermal weapons?

What a coincidence.

The Symbiote just happens not to fall into the category of carbon-based lifeforms; it's an inorganic, Four-dimensional crystalline lifeform.

Furthermore, as a standout among Symbiotes, Riot had devoured two other Symbiotes and had just absorbed the Abomination's power. His defensive capabilities far exceeded those of an ordinary Symbiote!

Forget these rifles, autocannons, and tank shells.

With Riot's current strength, he could even tank a few missiles!

Only if humanity's ultimate weapon—the nuclear bomb—were used would Ryan choose to avoid a direct confrontation!

And with his current physical strength, as long as he wasn't too close to the epicenter of a nuclear blast, Ryan was confident he could survive.

And if a nuclear bomb couldn't kill him, then the person who launched it would be in for a rough time... Five Super-soldiers could infiltrate a nation and throw it into internal chaos.

Ryan alone could assassinate the entire leadership of a country!

This wasn't an exaggeration at all.

But for now, there was no need for him to go that far... Ryan glanced at Peter, who had his head lowered, and the calm Harry, saying indifferently, "Peter, take Dr. Banner to our old home in Queens. Wait for me to come back and handle things."

"Harry, go find a guy named Samuel Sterns. He was also mutated by the Hulk's blood, but it was his brain that mutated, so his offensive power isn't great. Once you find him, take him to the house in Queens as well."

Harry nodded immediately upon hearing this. "Got it, brother!"

Compared to Harry, who had experienced the harshness of society and didn't care at all about the death of that idiot General Ross, Peter clearly found it a bit hard to accept the fact that his cousin had just killed a general.

Peter opened his mouth to say something. "Ryan..."

But before Peter could get the words out, Ryan interrupted him. "Save it, Peter. Can't you see that idiot never intended to let us go?"

"Even if you don't think about yourself, you should know that if our identities are exposed, it won't just be us who are in trouble. Ben, May, Gwen, and Mary Jane will all suffer too!"

"And I will never allow such a threat to exist, no matter who it is!"

"So, get lost, Peter, while I still have some patience left for you!"

With that, Ryan continued to maintain the Symbiote shield with one hand, while the other transformed into a silver-gray blade over a meter long, crackling with purple lightning!

He then opened a gap in the shield above him and swung his arm. The blade shot into the sky, accurately piercing the fuel tank of an attack helicopter. The purple lightning on the blade instantly ignited the fuel, causing the helicopter to explode and scatter debris everywhere!

This caused the gunfire outside to pause briefly.

Seeing this, Harry patted Peter on the shoulder and said calmly, "Brother is right. We can't let that happen. That general wasn't a good person; there's no need to feel guilty about his death!"

After a few brief words of comfort, Harry leaped up, jumped through the gap in the shield, and quickly swung away using Venom's tentacles to find the Samuel Sterns Ryan had mentioned.

After hearing Harry's words, Peter looked at Ryan's tall back with a complicated expression. He suddenly felt like he was quite childish... He had always thought about things from his own ideological perspective, never considering them from the perspective of his family, instead leaving all those problems to his cousin.

For example, what Harry said last time—that because he was Spider-Man, Harry came for revenge and killed May and Ben.

Although that was just Harry's twisted sense of humor and wasn't true, it was indeed something that could happen.

And the reason he had the confidence to be so naive seemed to always be because he had a powerful cousin behind him.

When he was a kid and got bullied, his cousin stood up for him.

When he grew up, his cousin was there, so he didn't have to worry about making a living.

After gaining his abilities, it was also because of his cousin that he could grow so quickly and freely be his Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.

But... he seemed to have never thought about how much of a drag he was to his cousin, how much trouble his naivety would bring him, or how much danger it would put Ben and May in!

Perhaps it was time for him to make a change!

Peter took a deep breath, walked over to Ryan, slung the unconscious Dr. Banner over his shoulder, and said solemnly, "I'm sorry, brother..."

With that, Peter shot out a web and swung away through the gap in the shield, carrying Dr. Banner with him.

Ryan glanced at Peter's departing figure and raised an eyebrow. "Is this kid finally scolded awake?"

One could only say he truly was a Parker—the greater the power, the more of a workhorse life became.

He really needed a whip to snap him into reality!

After a few inward sighs, the gunfire that had paused due to the helicopter explosion started up again!

Although the Symbiote's energy was still very plentiful after absorbing the Abomination's life energy, allowing it to continue withstanding the external fire, Ryan was never a masochist who took a beating without fighting back.

"You like blowing things up? Then let's see who's more explosive!"
