Chapter 6: Akane Shinjo's Affection Level ↑

....

During class, Kihara quietly observed his classmates and soon noticed something a little strange.

Akane Shinjo sat in the last seat by the window.

Within three seats around her, except for Kihara, not a single boy was present. Every seat nearby was occupied by girls.

…Why do I feel like I was specifically placed here?

Since they had agreed to talk during lunch, Akane didn't approach him during breaks. Instead, she was surrounded by other girls, chatting about trending music, cosmetics, dessert shops, and other everyday topics.

Thanks to his "amnesia" buff, no one bothered Kihara.

So he simply rested his head on his desk, pretending to scroll through his phone—while actually eavesdropping and gathering information.

By the time the last morning class ended, he had finally learned the name of that "thick-thigh beauty."

Rikka Takarada.

He also overheard some boys whispering that Akane Shinjo was known in class as:

"A miracle girl—beautiful, talented, and loved by everyone."

Even though he still hadn't figured out what world he was in or who the heroine was, Kihara was confident about one thing:

As long as I stick close to Akane, I'll find the answer sooner or later.

After all, she had already been attacked by a monster.

And in tokusatsu logic, a girl like that—especially a class beauty, was either the heroine or at least an important supporting character who drives the story forward.

When lunch break arrived, Kihara ran into a very awkward problem.

He had no food.

He hadn't brought a lunchbox, nor had he checked where the school store was.

Back in his school days, he either ate at the cafeteria or went home. Buying bread or bringing lunch was never his thing.

"Kihara, why aren't you going to eat?"

"…Uh, I don't know where the school store is."

His awkward expression made Akane cover her mouth and giggle.

She pulled out a sandwich from her drawer.

"It's probably sold out by now anyway. I've been dieting lately, so you can have this."

"Thank you, Shinjo."

If Akane met the criteria for a "loli mom,"

Kihara would've seriously considered calling her his adoptive mother.

Amuro… I haven't fallen that far yet!

"Hehe, let's go to the rooftop. It's quiet there—we can talk."

"Alright."

He agreed, though a doubt lingered in his mind.

Normally, school rooftops–unless restricted, would be crowded during lunch.

So why was she so sure it'd be empty?

Akane led the way.

As they climbed the stairs, Kihara noticed her outfit was somewhat similar to Rikka's.

A loose dark-purple jacket draped over her, covering most of her pleated skirt and making it look even shorter.

Her full, soft thighs were wrapped in gradient tights, gently swaying with each step.

The subtle movement was enough to shake one's soul.

Kihara swallowed hard.

Anyone who doesn't react to this is basically a saint.

He forcefully dragged his gaze away, suppressing his instincts.

"We're here! Just like I thought—no one's around today!"

Akane's cheerful voice rang out as she stepped onto the rooftop and waved at him.

"Kihara, over here!"

"Coming."

They sat on a bench—not too close, not too distant.

Akane pulled out a small box of tomato juice and a rice ball.

"Lunch time~"

Kihara glanced at her rice ball—it was barely half the size of his fist.

"…Is that really enough?"

"Yep! Don't worry about me, just eat."

"Then I'll gratefully accept. I'll treat you next time."

The sandwich wasn't large, but it was enough to keep him going for the afternoon.

He finished quickly, tossed the wrapper into a nearby bin, and returned to his seat.

Meanwhile, Akane slowly ate her rice ball, sipping her tomato juice.

Her reddish eyes lingered on him as she murmured:

"Boys really do eat fast…"

"Maybe. But your way of eating—slow and careful, is healthier… and nicer to watch."

She blinked, slightly surprised—then smiled.

"…Are you complimenting me?"

"I tend to say what I think. If you don't like it, I'll be more careful."

"Hehe… I don't think any girl dislikes being called pretty."

The atmosphere between them softened.

After finishing her food, Akane tossed the empty packaging away and happily skipped back, plopping down beside him.

Then she leaned forward slightly, eyes sparkling.

"So, Kihara… yesterday—your transformation. How did you do it?"

"Well… if I had to explain… it's probably technology? I don't fully understand it myself. It mainly relies on this belt and device."

As he spoke, he took out the Faiz belt.

But Akane's attention wasn't on the explanation.

It was on how he took it out of nowhere

.

"Wow! Where did that come from? Is it some kind of magic?"

Stop moving, seriously—this is dangerous…

Kihara felt dizzy watching her movements and quickly handed her the belt.

"Let's just call that my secret. Here—you wanted to see it, right?"

"…Is it really okay for me to handle something this important?"

"You're kind and beautiful. I trust you."

Akane clearly enjoyed that answer.

Her lips curled into a pleased, cat-like smile.

As she examined the belt, her hidden ability as the "god" of this world activated.

She began analyzing it.

Even if she couldn't fully understand something from another world, grasping its structure and partial functions was easy.

Photon blood enhances the body beyond human limits…

Hmm… it feels like this belt is missing some components.

So he lost both his memories and equipment when he came here?

Orphnochs… a monster race too? This could inspire my next creation…

After playing with the belt for a while, she returned it with a smile.

But inside, her excitement grew stronger.

I already have the perfect opponent for my monsters…

If he satisfies me in what comes next…

She looked at Kihara with growing interest.

Then I, as a god… might just acknowledge him as this world's protagonist.
