As both Isaac and Tiy's father began running back to the windbless camp, their speed was drastically slower for many reasons, the main one being injuries that both had due to the fight that they just finished.
Another reason was that neither was using support magic to boost their speed. When they were first running, both used their support magic, but now Tiy's father was running on empty, and Isaac was hiding his ability to use it, so as to act like a wanderer from the rooter home world.
The run to the Windbless camp would roughly take around two hours since the support magic basically doubled their running speed. Isaac was also forcibly slowing down his natural healing as it had grown better than most for an unknown reason.
The run was relatively quiet, with only the sound of grunts from the pain occasionally heard, which would always be followed by a break by Tiy's father, who would heal himself, as well as heal Isaac, which he gladly accepted since it would mean he could gather how others used healing magic on top of letting him heal his burns.
By the time the sun had just passed noon, Tiy's father finally spoke mid run.
"When did you show up at the Windbless camp?"
Isaac was kind of expecting this since he randomly appeared and claimed to be a rooter and used Tiy's father's lack of the day's memories to his advantage.
"I came here around probably dawn today, as I was tasked by a higher up to help clear out the rocks that closed up the monument, in preparation for the next selection ceremony.
Tiy's father nodded and prompted for Isaac to continue.
"I managed to break off a piece and crawl through to start working on the same side as the windbless under the assumption that working at the same side would quicken the job."
"After a couple of hours I took a break, and then you asked me to help you round up all the slackers, which I gladly did, and once I returned with them, that's when the banshee and that stranger wanderer showed up. And you know everything from there on."
Tiy's father nodded, slowed down to take a break, and began to make a mental timeline of everything.
"So you were tasked to clear out the rocks at the monument, and during a break you helped me do my job, and got strung into a fight by that wanderer."
Isaac nodded, which Tiy's father took as an opportunity to ask his next question.
"So what is your trait and title, as I am drawing a blank as to who you are?"
Isaac inwardly gulped, but tried to remain composed.
"I was from the most recent ceremony, but didn't return until very late due to my trait. It allows me to set an area as a kind of safe space, and I can return there when I die. When I was younger, I would choose the area but not move it, so when I was first brought here I died to a beast in the mountains and was stuck in a between life and death state until a month ago."
Tiy's dad froze and grinned after a few moments.
"That must be why I don't recognise you. Everyone must have thought you were dead for a while."
Isaac faked a smile at the slight praise.
"When I woke up, I was given the title "The Lost Chrysalis", and since then I have been doing hunting based jobs, as well as scouting. Since my death doesn't mean much."
Tiy's father patted his back.
"No wonder you saved me, instead of running back. Even if you did die, you could always warn the elders about what has happened. I see a great future for you."
Isaac was surprised at how easily he accepted those answers. He mainly chose that power because he had once read a story about a man who could do something similar, and as for the title, it was just something he thought sounded cool and fit with the power.
The two began running again, after a quick healing period, and by the time Isaac began to recognise some of the land from his walk to the Windbless camp, he asked Tiy's father the biggest question yet.
"So what is this true world thing that made you use your trait at such a level that it almost killed you?"
Tiy's father stopped moving and looked at Isaac for a while. Behind those eyes, something seemed to stir but soon stopped.
"Look, kid, I am really not meant to tell anyone what I know, but since you saved my life and have a bright future, I'll tell you."
Isaac held his breath until Tiy's father resumed speaking.
"It's the same thing as our world, and it's our whole purpose in life."
"To be honest, I don't know much either, but it's the first step to becoming a god. Only the head elder has one, and it turns his people into power that makes both the true world and the owner stronger.
Tiy's father leaned into Isaac's ear to whisper the last thing he could tell him.
"All true worlds are different, but only wanderers can have them, and the ways to get one are also different, so I assume I saw the chance to get one and was willing to lose my life for it, and I would do it again."
Tiy's father began to move back when a knife plunged deep into his stomach.
He stumbled back and fell onto a tree.
"Kid, what are you doing?"
Isaac bit his cheek and shrugged.
"Well, I kinda lied to you. There was no other wanderer, just me and you, and it was my true world you took."
"I just wanted to know more about it, and you seemed like a good enough target. Don't get me wrong, this kinda hurts to do, but if I think about how you burned my back and my face, it makes this a lot easier."
Tiy's father began to crawl back, but was caught by the tree.
"But why? Why not just kill me? I'm sure you could find someone way better than me in your home world."
Isaac brought out his other knife from his true world.
"Well, maybe someone from my world might know about them, that won't help me take down the elder's..."
"Oh, and thanks for telling me about your head elder having a true world. I'll make sure Tiy knows about it, and we plan around it."
Tiy's father put his head in his hands and began to weep.
Isaac was not sure what to do since he needed to kill this guy, who was through on guard, but quickly put space between him and Tiy's father. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out a glove, which he now knew was called Shnaplenear, and put it on.
Tiy's father looked up and saw the glove and tried to speak, but Isaac couldn't make out any words through the tears. Isaac pressed the gloved hand to his chest and spoke the same healing words as the man had used on Isaac.
"Opploc," Which was a root word that roughly meant rejuvenate or heal.
After a few moments, all of the scarred burns healed over with fresh skin.
"You know this glove is very cool. I would love to know how it was made, but considering your power, I'm not giving you a chance to speak."
Isaac grabbed Tiy's father's mouth and spoke.
"I think it might change its name, though. Maybe I'll name it after you..."
"How about 'liar's truth'"
As soon as Isaac spoke, all the mana around him twisted and turned into a ball, which quickly arrived in Tiy's father's mouth. Isaac looked down at Tiy's father and spoke.
"This will never get easier."
He took a deep breath and spoke.
"'Bloom Into a rose Scarumloom'"
The mana ball twisted and turned as a flame red rose bloomed out of Tiy's father, at least four meters tall, and burned him alive. Isaac stood up and began walking to the camp alone.
