"Our profits have tripled since we 'hired' Kira," one man whispered, a greedy smile on his face.
"But the detectives are getting closer," another countered, looking nervous. "If they find out one of us holds the power..."
"They won't," a voice from the head of the table cut in. It was Higuchi, the man who now held Light's former power. "As long as we keep choosing the targets together, the world will think Kira has just changed his philosophy. We are untouchable."
[Scene 4: The New Strategy]
Back at the HQ, Light looked at L. "If Kira is inside Yotsuba, we can't wait for him to make a mistake. we have to force him out. We need to make them believe we have found a way to stop Kira's power."
L looked at the chain connecting their wrists. "A dangerous game, Light-kun. If we provoke a cornered animal, it bites."
"Then let's make sure we're the ones holding the cage," Light replied, his voice filled with a familiar, cold determination.
