The weight of Medusa's head in my backpack was a chilling reminder of the world I'd entered. Part of me reveled in the victory, the sheer power. Another part, deeper and darker, felt the mature understanding of consequences. This wasn't a game. These were lives, monstrous or not, ended by my hand.
