Chapter 2 - (2) The Day of Exploration Begins

Three Days Later…

A new update appeared on Rudra's YouTube channel.

The thumbnail alone was enough to send excitement spreading across the internet.

Behind Rudra stood the distant silhouette of snow-covered mountains beneath a dark blue sky, while bold white letters across the screen read:

"Journey to Kailash Begins."

The moment the video went live, notifications exploded across social media.

Comments flooded endlessly beneath the upload.

Some viewers were excited.

Some called him insane.

Others begged him not to go.

But regardless of fear or curiosity—

everyone was waiting for the journey to begin.

The video started with Rudra standing inside his apartment, the morning sunlight spilling faintly through the half-open curtains behind him. Travel bags and climbing equipment were scattered across the room while the distant sound of traffic echoed from outside the city.

A faint smile appeared on his face as the camera focused on him.

"Guys…"

He adjusted the strap on his backpack.

"Today's finally the day."

A brief silence followed.

Then he looked directly into the camera.

"I'm leaving home to explore Kailash Mountain."

Within minutes, the upload began gaining views at an unbelievable speed.

Thousands.

Hundreds of thousands.

Then millions.

Comments appeared faster than the screen could refresh.

"BRO ACTUALLY WENT."

"Don't go alone!"

"This is going to be legendary."

"Something about Kailash feels terrifying…"

Not long after, a black vehicle arrived outside the apartment building.

The sky above the city was covered in pale gray clouds while cold wind drifted through the streets, carrying the faint scent of approaching rain.

Rudra placed his luggage inside the vehicle before stopping for a moment.

He slowly turned around and looked back at his apartment building.

The place where he had spent years of his life.

For a brief moment…

silence filled his mind.

No livestream.

No audience.

No excitement.

Only stillness.

Then—

without another word—

he stepped into the car.

The journey had officially begun.

During the ride, Rudra casually scrolled through the comments on his latest post while the city lights passed endlessly beyond the car window.

Most viewers were asking the same questions.

"How long will it take to reach Kailash?"

"Why don't you livestream the entire journey?"

Rudra smiled slightly before posting another update.

"From where I live, it takes at least two days to reach Ngari Gunsa Airport (NGQ). After that, I still need to travel nearly six more hours by road before reaching Kailash."

A short pause followed before he continued typing.

"And because the mountain lies between India, China, and Nepal… getting permission to explore the area alone took me two full days."

The post instantly exploded across the internet.

Speculation.

Excitement.

Fear.

The closer Rudra moved toward Kailash, the more attention the journey gained.

After long flights, endless waiting hours, and roads stretching through harsh mountain terrain—

Rudra finally arrived.

Kailash Mountain.

The moment he stepped out of the vehicle, freezing wind crashed against his body like invisible waves.

The sky above looked vast and cold, covered by layers of drifting gray clouds while endless mountain ranges stretched across the horizon like ancient sleeping giants.

And at the center of it all—

stood Kailash.

Even from a distance, the mountain looked unreal.

Its enormous snow-covered peak pierced through the heavens beneath the pale sky, radiating a silent pressure that was impossible to describe.

The air itself felt different there.

Thinner.

Colder.

Heavier.

For some reason…

the mountain didn't feel like a normal place.

It felt ancient.

As though it had existed long before humanity itself.

The distant howl of the wind echoed endlessly across the frozen landscape while tiny snow particles drifted through the air like white ash.

Rudra unconsciously stared at the mountain for several seconds without speaking.

Even the livestream chat slowed down.

As if the viewers themselves were overwhelmed by the sight.

Eventually, Rudra exhaled slowly before setting up a temporary camp nearby.

Tomorrow—

the real exploration would begin.

Next Day — 11:00 AM

The livestream started.

Within minutes, thousands of viewers joined.

Then hundreds of thousands.

Then millions.

Cold wind roared loudly through the microphone while snow drifted behind Rudra beneath the endless white mountains.

He adjusted the camera slightly while the massive silhouette of Kailash stood behind him like an ancient god watching silently from above.

"Alright, guys…"

A smile appeared on his face.

"We're finally here."

Excitement filled his voice.

But deep within his eyes—

something else existed.

Anticipation.

Curiosity.

A strange tension even he didn't fully understand.

"This…"

He slowly turned the camera toward the mountain.

"…is Kailash."

The livestream chat exploded instantly.

"This place looks unreal."

"Why does this mountain feel creepy?"

"Bro the atmosphere is insane."

"Go closer!"

Rudra laughed softly.

"Relax."

He tightened the straps on his backpack.

"We're just getting started."

A sharp gust of freezing wind swept across the cliffs as he began climbing.

"And today…"

His eyes sharpened slightly with excitement.

"We explore Kailash together."

The climb began.

Each step felt heavier than the last.

Snow-covered rocks cracked softly beneath his boots while freezing wind screamed endlessly through the mountain paths.

The higher he climbed, the colder the air became.

Fog drifted slowly between the cliffs while distant echoes bounced through the mountains, distorted by the violent currents surrounding the peaks.

Yet—

something felt wrong.

There were no birds.

No animals.

No movement.

Nothing.

Only silence.

An unnatural silence.

The kind that slowly crawled beneath the skin.

Even the viewers in the livestream began noticing it.

"Why is it so quiet?"

"This place feels cursed…"

After nearly an hour of climbing, Rudra suddenly stopped.

A narrow opening stood hidden between massive layers of dark stone.

A cave.

Partially concealed behind snow and jagged rock formations.

Rudra slowly pointed the camera toward it.

"Well…"

A curious smile formed on his face.

"Looks like we found something interesting."

The livestream instantly went wild.

"GO INSIDE."

"Nope. Absolutely not."

"Bro this is how horror movies start."

Rudra stared at the cave entrance silently for a few seconds.

Cold air flowed out from the darkness like invisible breath.

Then—

he stepped forward.

The instant he entered—

the temperature dropped sharply.

A freezing chill brushed against his skin while the sound of dripping water echoed faintly through the hollow cave walls.

The deeper he walked, the darker the surroundings became.

Only the narrow beam of his flashlight pierced through the endless darkness ahead.

Then—

Rudra suddenly stopped.

His flashlight slowly moved across the stone wall beside him.

Ancient carvings covered the surface.

Strange symbols stretched endlessly across the cave walls beneath layers of dust and age.

Some resembled unknown patterns.

Some looked vaguely human.

Others…

felt impossible to understand.

The carvings almost seemed alive beneath the faint light.

Rudra stepped closer.

"These look…"

His voice lowered unconsciously.

"Ancient."

The flashlight trembled slightly in his hand as he continued examining the markings.

"Almost like…"

A brief silence filled the cave.

"…they don't belong here."

Suddenly—

the camera flickered violently for a split second.

Static distorted across the livestream.

Rudra frowned immediately before glancing at the screen.

"Probably just network issues."

But deep down—

even he wasn't fully convinced.

After walking deeper into the cave, the narrow passage eventually opened into a much wider area.

The ceiling rose high above like a massive underground chamber hidden beneath the mountain.

The rocky ground looked stable enough to rest for the night.

Rudra glanced around carefully before dropping his backpack onto the ground.

"Alright…"

His voice echoed softly through the darkness.

"I think I'll set up camp here tonight."

The livestream chat exploded again.

"YOU'RE SLEEPING THERE?!"

"This place is terrifying…"

Rudra laughed lightly while preparing his equipment.

"Relax."

He smiled casually.

"It's safe."

At least…

that's what he believed.

After setting up the camp, Rudra sat down in front of the camera once more.

The small lantern beside him cast faint orange light across the dark cave walls while endless darkness stretched beyond the reach of the camp.

"Alright, guys."

He leaned back slightly.

"That's it for today."

For a brief moment, his eyes drifted deeper into the cave.

Toward the darkness.

Toward something unseen.

The silence there felt… unsettling.

Then he looked back toward the camera and smiled.

"Tomorrow…"

His voice echoed faintly through the cave.

"We go deeper."

A small grin appeared on his face.

"Good night."

The livestream ended.

Darkness slowly consumed the cave once more.

Only the distant sound of freezing wind remained.

Rudra lay down and closed his eyes as exhaustion slowly overtook him.

But deep within the cave—

far beyond the reach of light—

something unseen…

still remained.

Watching.
