Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The Girl Who Never Spoke

In the quiet town of Ravenshade, where fog clung to the streets like forgotten memories, lived a girl named Elara Voss.

No one had ever heard her voice.

Not once.

She wasn't mute—at least, that's what the doctors had said when she was a child. "Perfectly fine," they claimed. "Nothing wrong with her vocal cords." Yet, Elara chose silence, as if words were too dangerous to release into the world.

People whispered about her.

"They say she saw something."

"Something that made her stop speaking."

Her mother, Lillian Voss, never entertained such rumors. She simply smiled and said, "Elara speaks in her own way."

And she did.

Through her hauntingly beautiful sketches.

Every night, Elara filled her notebooks with drawings—dark forests, broken clocks, faceless people… and a recurring symbol no one understood.

A circle, split in half.

One side light.

The other, completely black.

Chapter 2: The Boy Who Heard Too Much

Kael Arden had the opposite problem.

He heard everything.

Not just sounds—but whispers behind walls, secrets hidden in silence, even thoughts that weren't meant to be heard. It wasn't a gift. It was a curse that followed him like a shadow.

He moved to Ravenshade after his father mysteriously disappeared.

People said the town was peaceful.

They lied.

The first night in his new house, Kael heard it.

A voice.

Soft. Fragile.

"…help me…"

He froze.

It didn't come from outside.

It came from inside his head.

The next morning, exhausted and shaken, Kael walked into his new school. That's when he saw her.

Elara Voss.

She sat by the window, sketching something intensely, as if the world around her didn't exist.

And suddenly—

The voice returned.

Louder this time.

"…she knows…"

Kael's heart pounded.

Because for the first time…

The voice wasn't coming from nowhere.

It was coming from her.

Chapter 3: The First Connection

Kael couldn't take his eyes off Elara.

There was something unsettling about the way she moved—calm, precise, almost like she already knew what was going to happen next.

During lunch, he finally gathered the courage to approach her.

"You… you're Elara, right?"

No response.

She didn't even look up.

"I think… I think I can hear you."

That made her stop.

Slowly, she raised her head.

Their eyes met.

And in that moment, Kael felt something crack inside his mind—like a door being forced open.

Images flooded him.

Dark corridors.

A burning house.

A man screaming.

And that same symbol.

The circle. Half light. Half darkness.

Kael stumbled back, gripping his head.

"What… what was that?!"

Elara calmly tore a page from her notebook and handed it to him.

On it, she had written just three words:

"You're not safe."

Chapter 4: The Truth Beneath Ravenshade

That night, Kael couldn't sleep.

The images kept replaying in his mind like a broken film reel. He knew one thing for certain—Elara wasn't just a silent girl.

She was hiding something.

And somehow…

He was now part of it.

Determined to find answers, Kael followed her after school the next day.

She walked deep into the forest beyond the town—a place locals avoided.

"The Hollow."

Kael had heard the name before. People said strange things happened there. Disappearances. Echoes. Shadows that didn't belong to anyone.

Elara stopped in front of an old, abandoned structure buried in vines.

A house.

Half-burned.

Half-standing.

Kael's breath caught.

It was the same house from his visions.

Elara turned to him, her expression unreadable.

Then, for the first time ever—

She spoke.

Her voice was barely a whisper, yet it echoed like thunder in Kael's mind.

"They're coming back."

Chapter 5: The Ones Who Listen

"What do you mean—coming back?" Kael asked, his voice trembling.

Elara stepped closer to the ruined house, her fingers brushing against the charred wood.

"They never left."

The air suddenly felt heavier.

The forest grew silent.

Too silent.

Kael felt it again—that pressure in his head.

And then—

Voices.

Dozens of them.

Whispering at once.

"…he can hear us…"

"…just like before…"

"…we found him…"

Kael dropped to his knees, clutching his ears.

"Make it stop!"

Elara grabbed his hand.

Instantly, the voices vanished.

Just like that.

Kael looked up at her, breathless.

"What… what are you?"

Elara hesitated.

For the first time, fear flickered in her eyes.

Then she said:

"I'm the reason they're still here."
