Emily stood in front of the iron gates, completely shocked.
Behind the gates was not a house.It was a mansion. A huge one.
"This is your home now," the driver said.
Home. The word sounded unreal.
When Emily walked inside, everything looked like a palace — marble floors, giant chandeliers, tall windows, expensive paintings. She felt like she didn't belong here at all.
"Like it?" a voice came from behind.
Emily turned around. Alexander was walking down the stairs, wearing a simple white shirt, but he still looked like he owned the entire world.
"This place is too big," Emily said.
Alexander looked at her. "You will get used to it. From now on, this is where you live."
"Which room is mine?" Emily asked.
Alexander looked at her for a few seconds, then said slowly:
"My room."
Emily froze. "What?"
"You are my wife," he said calmly. "Husband and wife sleep in the same room."
"This is a contract marriage!" Emily said immediately.
Alexander walked closer, leaned down slightly, and said near her ear:
"Contract marriage is still marriage."
Emily's face turned red instantly.
Alexander straightened up and said to the staff:
"Prepare the master bedroom."
Then he looked back at Emily and said quietly:
"Get used to it, Mrs. Moretti.This is only the beginning."
Emily suddenly realized something very important.
She was not just signing a contract.She had just walked into a cage made of gold.
And the man who locked her inside…was her husband.
