Chapter 96: The Past and the Predators
The morning sun was just beginning to cut through the lingering smog of the capital.
I silently slipped back into the Obsidian Bungalow.
My [Phantom Tread] faded as I closed the heavy front doors. The quiet hum of my Vanguard Arm was the only sound in the foyer.
'Physically Exhausted but completely and profoundly sated. Elara was out of the ordinary. I think she has a different fetish.'
It had settled a restless, primal fire in my blood.
I rolled my shoulders and walked toward the dining hall. I expected to find the house asleep.
'Oh are they awake already?'
Instead, the rich smell of roasted meats, fresh bread, and brewed coffee hit my nose.
I pushed open the double doors.
A massive breakfast feast was laid out on the mahogany table.
'Oh well! Here comes the teasing!'
Nyssa, Kaelith, Lysandra, and Anise were already seated. They were chatting animatedly over steaming mugs.
