Ray sat at the front of the class at the seat in front of the door.
He had wanted to sit more towards the back since that was what he did back on earth but now that he was here, he was asked to sit at the front of the class along with Fang Zheng who sat at the front as well but on the opposite end of the room
As an A Grade talent Ray needed to be nurtured and the academy elder needed to make sure that Ray learnt well
Right now the academy elder was in the middle of teaching the children how to access their apertures and move their essence

Ray was about to give his suggestions but noticed the elder looking at him, he snapped out of his thoughts and looked back at the elder.
"Ah, Sorry Elder I got lost in my thoughts...' He said while scratching the back of his neck
The Elder smiled gently which made Ray a bit more irritated with the man than he already was
"May I ask what kind of thoughts that is?" He asked
Ray sighed
"I wanted to know what the essence recovery rate of my aperture is..."
The Elder looked at him and then smiled
"Don't worry about that for now, it will be answered in the future... focus on the current lesson" The man said
The Elder had taught many students and he had seen many people. It was not difficult to tell that Ray was lying about what his thoughts was
It was just that he had no way of figuring out what they were and thankfully he seemed to dismiss it as something unimportant
Ray bowed his head slightly
"I will."
Ray saw the elder turn around and continue to speak
He also felt the gazes of other students like Mo Bei and Chi Cheng land on him, the gazes of those two in particular were full of disdain
It must of angered them that Fang Zheng, the so called useless brother of the two had been given an A Grade aptitude while they had B Grade Aptitudes but that was something they could accept with hardship after all, one brother was thought to be a genius of the mind so maybe this brother got the cultivation talent
But what about Yuxuan?
They did not know that Ray was some otherworldly demon who has 3 rank 10 gu, a special body and higher attainments than literally the majority of the world
To them Yuxuan, or Ray
Ray was just some pathetic orphan who was from the mortal village branch who's parents also had no talent
That was a much harder pill to swallow
It was just funny that Ray could not give a rats ass about what they thought about him
Immediately after the elder turned around Ray had already began speaking to the voice again
'I was thinking of Raphael'
He stated the name that he chose
Raphael was the name of the 'system' that was from one of his favorite isekai anime, it was a helper who could do pretty much the same things that his system could so he selected that as the name

Ray smiled as he pretended to hear what the elder was saying, then he narrowed his eyes as if he did not understand but then opened it as the elder repeated what he said for the whole class
Once it was established that he was not paying attention Ray spoke to Raphael again
'What path do you think I should choose for my mortal aperture?'
He asked
He was actually not completely sure since he had options and his own thoughts
Raphael could narrow that down to the best option

Raphael responded curtly
That was his first choice as well, after all, he was a supreme grandmaster in the path and could become venerable in it
Refinement path also had many resources and such that can be used to develop the aperture when he becomes venerable
Ray nodded inwardly
Refinement path was the best path for his mortal aperture, and it would remain so unless he can become a supreme grandmaster on another path
He turned his head to the side very lightly and looked at the target for the day
Fang Yuan was sitting at the back, his head was laid on the desk and he was asleep
'Raphael, Give me the specs of Eternal Brotherhood Gu.'

That made sense, the rule path section came from the fact that he was literally engraving the rule onto Fang Yuan and the world itself that Fang Yuan cared for him. The Enslavement path section most likely came from the fact that Fang Yuan would always put Ray's well being over his own and always try to give Ray what he wanted
