Chapter 165 - Red Smoke

He turned away from me, reacting to the pain he felt.

It made me a bit glad.

The brand on his back seemed to pulse.

Serves him right.

A small smile tugged at my lips. Since he wouldn't answer, it didn't take much to even figure it out. He must have gained some level of control over the castle now, with whatever had been into his body. I touched the crown on my head, surprised to still find it there.

I removed it and placed it at the edge, studying it for a bit before glancing back.

Watching him writhe in pain a bit would ease me at least for a while.

He rose again, and stretched his back.

My smile died instantly.

Water streamed down the powerful lines of his shoulders, tracing every ridge of muscle as they flexed and rolled underneath his skin.

I hadn't realized he was this muscular. My mind betrayed me, flashing back to the moment I had stumbled against him when he had first taken me to his castle. How hard every inch of him had been.

I stilled completely.
