The words made the tips of Summer Thorne's ears burn uncontrollably. She simply bit her lip and stared at him intently.
"Whether it was yesterday or early this morning, it doesn't matter. Nothing happened between us." When she spoke again, her voice was sharp and cold.
Timothy York listened without responding, continuing to change his pants in the hospital room.
Summer Thorne averted her gaze at the right moment.
By the time Timothy York walked back to her bedside, he was dressed in a new set of clothes.
Summer Thorne tried not to care, but she simply couldn't ignore it. In less than ten hours, he had already changed into his third suit.
'And it was all because of her.'
Timothy York retrieved his phone from her bedside table before looking down at her again.
"Is this what you want?"
Summer Thorne met his gaze. After a long moment, she said slowly, "This is what you want."
