Summer Thorne never explicitly agreed to Leo Morgan's dinner invitation for Friday.
Yet in Leo Morgan's eyes, she was already a fish on the chopping block.
She had something she cared about, which meant she was at his mercy.
However, when Friday arrived, Summer Thorne simply boarded a plane to Lundenburg instead.
She spent a few more days in Lundenburg with Brandon Crawford.
Brandon Crawford seemed to have sensed that something was wrong. But when he asked Summer Thorne, she just said everything was fine. She explained that things were getting busy at Forezen, so she would probably have to travel back and forth between Lundenburg and Valois and couldn't stay in Lundenburg for an extended period.
"I'm not helpless. I don't need you here with me the whole time," Brandon Crawford said. "But you have to promise me you won't try to handle everything on your own in Valois... I know you don't want to, but... just think of it as giving him a chance to atone. Please?"
