After a blood-curdling scream, the room once again fell into a deathly silence.
Lying on the floor, Leo Morgan had completely lost consciousness.
Summer Thorne hadn't expected Timothy York's actions in the slightest. She stared at him, almost dazed, for a moment. When she finally came to her senses, she lunged forward to snatch the object from his hand.
But Timothy York easily dodged her.
He hid the object behind his back with one hand and gripped Summer Thorne tightly with the other.
"If this must be done, then let me do it for you." Timothy York lowered his gaze to her and murmured, "You shouldn't have to experience something like this, shouldn't have to endure this kind of pain..."
'Shouldn't?'
Hearing that word, Summer Thorne could only scoff.
'In this world, what is there that shouldn't happen?'
"The only thing I shouldn't have done was meet you, get involved with you—" Summer Thorne stared at him, her red eyes wide with fury. "Give me back what's mine!"
