Evelyn Grant guessed that Florence Morgan was trying to push her and Julian Sterling back together again.
Even though Florence was an elder she respected, Evelyn really didn't want to see Julian Sterling again.
"Mom, it's really over between him and me."
"I didn't say anything! I just want to have a bowl of your soup." Florence Morgan laughed dryly. "Don't worry, Julian isn't at The Sterling Estate! He's been staying at your place in Siren's Cove these past few days. It's just your father and I here."
"Really?"
"Really, I promise! How about this: if you come over and see any sign of Julian, you can turn around and leave immediately. Deal?"
Evelyn Grant took a breath, then agreed, "Alright, I'll head over after I finish up my work."
"Great! You don't need to buy anything, I've already bought everything. I'm just waiting for you to come and cook!"
"Okay."
"I knew you'd agree!"
...
Evelyn Grant took a shower to clear her head.
