Kian Jacobs was calling.
Oh.
'So it was *that* big brother, not the other one.'
"It's the holidays, so traffic was a nightmare. I got held up, but I'm outside the orchestra hall now. Where are you?" Kian Jacobs asked.
"I've already left."
"Where are you? I'll come pick you up."
Zoe Monroe glanced at the man beside her. Jonathan Thorne seemed to have heard Kian's question and simply shook his head at her. 'Does that mean he doesn't want to see him?'
'Aren't they good friends?' Though confused, Zoe Monroe still politely declined Kian's offer, telling him she was with a colleague.
After all, she wasn't his actual sister, so Kian Jacobs couldn't press the matter. He just told her to be safe and hung up.
"Mr. Thorne, you don't want to see Kian?" Zoe Monroe voiced her confusion.
Jonathan Thorne gave her a cool glance. "Eating with Kian is exhausting."
"…"
