"I hate you, Father! You're biased! You only like Miche and don't like me anymore!" Amy bawled, her eyes full of disappointment as she looked at Loki.
Amy's emotional volatility had spiked drastically, and coupled with her ongoing fever, her tiny body couldn't handle the sudden shock. She passed out on the spot.
Terrified, Loki scrambled to catch Amy and gathered her into his arms.
"Amy, what's wrong? Wake up." He gently shook her small frame. "Father was wrong. I'll never yell at you again. Please, wake up."
No matter what, Amy was his daughter. He had regretted the slap the moment his hand fell.
Even Miche was startled by the scene.
"Loki, Amy isn't faking it, is she?" Miche asked in a soft, frail voice. She bit her lip, a look of doubt on her face.
Loki froze. Recalling how selfishly Amy had acted yesterday, he realized it was entirely possible she was faking her illness.
