Today just so happened to be the day Blair White returned to the country. She hadn't expected her best friend to call and invite her to a get-together right away.
Without a second thought, she decided to go. After all, a get-together was a good thing, a chance for them to deepen their friendship.
There was really no need to overthink or hesitate about it.
"How did you guys think to call me over? Did you somehow know I was coming back today?"
Blair White smiled, wondering how Megan could have possibly known she was returning today. The whole thing seemed so ordinary.
'It's like things aren't quite developing in the way I'd expected.'
"We were just having a get-together, so it's not like I knew you were back. I just called you anyway. It's great that you could make it."
Megan Kane couldn't quite explain what was going on, but as long as Blair was here, that was all that mattered. There was no point in overthinking it.
