Around ten o'clock, Stella Sterling was unexpectedly called into the living room to help review the guest list for the banquet.
It was a dizzying array of names and relationships.
Who couldn't be seated at the same table, who should be at the secondary head table.
The arrangements were incredibly meticulous, full of minute details.
While helping organize the dozen-or-so pages of the guest list, Stella Sterling unexpectedly saw Roman Rhodes's name.
She pretended to flip through a couple of pages and asked casually, "Auntie, where should Roman Rhodes be seated?"
Shirley Sterling chuckled at the question. "Mr. Rhodes might not attend. But if he does, we'll have a seat reserved for him at the secondary head table."
Stella murmured her understanding.
She looked down at the man's name again, and the thought of last night's events made her heart flutter as if a string had been plucked.
It was nearly noon before Stella finally managed to get away from her task.
