"This..." Victor Ashworth looked down, peering over the edge of the cliff. All he could see was a thick, white mist with no end in sight.
"Jean, you need to calm down. Don't be rash. We'll think of another way." Victor Ashworth walked over to Jean Reginald and gently patted his shoulder. Truthfully, he had little confidence in his own words. After all, this was a chasm thousands of feet deep. The chances of an ordinary person surviving such a fall were incredibly slim. But given the circumstances, Jean couldn't handle any more agitation. This way, at least there was still a sliver of hope for everyone. Otherwise, if Yves was gone, Jean probably wouldn't be able to go on living. After all, Yves had fallen trying to save him.
Jean Reginald's head snapped up. He grabbed Victor Ashworth's hand on his shoulder, his eyes filled with a sliver of hope. "Victor, my brother will be okay, right?"
