"GAAAAAAAH—!!!"
The big-nosed goblin's bloodcurdling scream, like a stone thrown into a stagnant pond, shattered the forest's tranquility in an instant.
The shriek pierced through the sparse woods and reached a patch of low-lying shrubs just outside the forest.
Another squad of a dozen or so goblins was crouching there, led by one with a scar on its face that looked a little more seasoned.
They were listlessly chewing on some kind of foul-smelling root, waiting for their comrades inside to scout out the situation.
When the scream reached them, the scar-faced goblin flinched so hard it almost swallowed the root in its mouth and choked to death.
It spat irritably, muttering curses as it stood up, ready to teach that idiot a lesson for making a scene and giving away their position.
"Which idiot is screaming! Are you trying to..." Its cursing cut short.
A short, green figure was scrambling and tumbling out of the woods—the goblin missing half an ear.
