Just then, a rogue responsible for flank reconnaissance suddenly let out a low, bird-like cry as a warning.
Soon, Squad Leader Rex retrieved a strange-looking Beetle from the branches of a nearby tree.
The Beetle was motionless, as if it had some ability to reduce its presence, but the strangest part was the small Gel cap on its head.
"Commander, take a look at this…"
Rex handed the Beetle to Calvin, who had ridden over on his mount.
Calvin took the Beetle. His expression darkened after a single glance.
"Don't forget, our enemies aren't human. They're a horde of monsters. This isn't an ordinary Beetle; it's most likely a reconnaissance unit they sent out."
As if to confirm his words, scouts in other directions soon discovered several more Beetles, all with the same Gel caps on their heads.
"Damn it, these Beetles really are scouts."
