Damian remained calm in the face of Seraphina's sarcasm.
He looked at her, his expression impassive, and said flatly:
"Don't you think she looks just like you used to? When I first met you, you looked just like her."
The sarcastic look in Seraphina's eyes deepened. "So what?"
Damian, however, evaded the question. "What did you say you were going to the police station for?"
Seraphina pressed her lips together and said:
"I said the Kendalls dropped the case. I need to go to the police station to sign the papers and pick up my cousin."
As soon as she finished, Damian asked her quietly, "Have you had your herbal medicine today?"
Seraphina frowned. "Are you sure that herbalist you found is any good?"
Damian said, "We won't know if it's effective until you've been taking it for some time."
He paused. "You didn't come back last night, so you missed a dose yesterday. You can't skip it again today."
