"Are you... Mrs. Fairchild?"
Hearing this, Seraphina Quinn's voice seemed to catch in her throat. A moment passed before she could speak. "You're... Chloe Kendall?"
Chloe Kendall's voice was sweet, with no hint of aggression.
She replied in a gentle voice, "Yes, I'm Chloe Kendall. Mrs. Fairchild, are you coming to see Fairchild? Shall I send you his room number?"
Seraphina Quinn felt a little unsettled. After a moment's thought, she asked, "How is he?"
Chloe Kendall replied, "He took some painkillers a little while ago and just fell asleep. He's not sleeping soundly, though. Do you want him to take the call?"
Seraphina Quinn asked, "What did the doctors say?"
Chloe Kendall gave Seraphina Quinn a brief summary of Damian Fairchild's condition, then explained why she was in his hospital room:
