Lloyd had just collected his 'rent' for the day and was about to head to the library to do some reading when, as he stepped out of the elevator, he caught a familiar whiff of alcohol.
Turning his head, he saw Meditis standing there. Beside her was a Judge who looked even more rigid than Weiya, with dark circles under his eyes and a shockingly receding hairline.
The man's name was Glaucus. Lloyd had met him a few times before. He was the Chief Judge's top aide, and rumor had it that he was in charge of every miscellaneous affair, big or small, in the entire Eighteenth District. He was so busy that people jokingly called him "Flawless Glaucus."
As soon as he saw Lloyd, the busy man scurried over and said hurriedly,
"Executioner Lloyd, there is an important mission that requires your participation."
