Inside the Netherworld King's Hall, everyone knew full well why they had gathered. On one hand, none of their individual factions felt confident enough to face the Nether King's revenge alone. On the other, they needed to figure out how to kill him while suffering the fewest possible losses.
As far as they were concerned, there was no question they could kill the Nether King. With so many of them gathered, it would be an easy task. The only question was how they would go about it.
After all, no one wanted to be on the front lines. They all wanted to hang back, pick up the scraps, and then, once it was all over, seize the opportunity to plunder some resources to strengthen their own factions and weaken the others.
Here, there were no permanent enemies, and certainly no permanent friends—only permanent interests.
