Du Xinxin listlessly stared at her review materials for the final exams, her mind clearly elsewhere.
'Shengsheng hasn't played games with me in days.'
Du Xinxin pouted, unhappily swinging her smooth, fair calves.
DING.
The distinct notification sound made Du Xinxin jolt.
'Shengsheng?'
Du Xinxin quickly grabbed her phone. The message was from Qi Sheng.
Qi Sheng: "I'm downstairs. Sneak down by yourself."
Her fingers flew across the screen as she typed back, "Okay, okay! I'll be right down! Wait for me!"
After sending the message, Du Xinxin scrambled off her bed.
She opened her small wardrobe and began picking out an outfit.
Tao Siyao, who was on her bunk scrolling through her phone, watched Du Xinxin with curiosity.
"Where are you off to?"
"I'm hungry, going to buy some snacks. Want me to bring you anything?"
Du Xinxin's eyes darted as she told a small lie.
