Jiang Xinghai offered this final piece of advice to Ye Zhiqiu, then turned to leave.
Mi Hong walked toward him, lowering her head. "Can you please just drop it? Zhiqiu and I have been in an awkward spot ever since you got here. Go downstairs and wait for me. I'll be quick."
Jiang Xinghai headed downstairs.
"Wait!"
Suddenly, Ye Zhiqiu's voice called out, "It's not that it hurts, but it's really uncomfortable. Can you help me?"
"Of course," Jiang Xinghai called back, turning to leave again.
"Wait!"
Mi Hong held up her hands to stop him, her expression complicated. "Let me go in first. You stay outside the door. Just wait right here."
Jiang Xinghai fell silent, standing still without a word.
Mi Hong had already entered Ye Zhiqiu's bedroom and locked the door from the inside again.
A minute later, a rather miserable, plaintive moan came from inside Ye Zhiqiu's room.
