He paused, then added, "I left it a big piece of beef brisket as a farewell gift. I hope it can get through the winter safely. The remains of my shelter might even become its new home."
The contestants didn't stay long. The helicopters and pickup trucks sent by the production team arrived one after another and transported them in groups to the nearest city.
As for the food the contestants had gathered themselves, they could take small quantities back with them, but larger amounts had to be sold nearby. In any case, the production team was responsible for these arrangements, so the contestants didn't have to worry about it.
By the time he got back to Toronto, it was four days after the end of the competition.
