"My lady, what's wrong?" Lan Zhi asked, her face tense.
Ever since they learned of Lin Zhi's suspicions about Zhuyue, senior maids like Chun Lan and Qiu Ju had been on high alert. They were especially vigilant about her food and drink, never allowing anyone else to handle them.
Lin Zhi frowned and set the medicine bowl down. "Have a doctor check this medicine." The sudden bout of palpitations had come out of nowhere, but she dared not ignore it.
Lan Zhi instantly panicked, staring at the bowl. "But I watched it brew with my own eyes." She hadn't expected someone to still find a way to tamper with it. "I'll go get the doctor right now!"
She picked up the bowl and was about to leave when Chu Jing walked in from outside. Seeing that the medicine hadn't been drunk, he asked about it.
Lin Zhi didn't hide anything from him and shared her suspicions.
