Amidst a tapestry of blooming flowers, the young man before her murmured, "Come here." Amelia Lockhart froze for a second, the scene feeling strangely familiar.
She hurried over and walked with him along a small path to its end, where two people shrouded entirely in black cloth stood before a bridge.
Below the bridge was the shimmering surface of a lake.
On the other side of the bridge were tranquil private rooms. From a distance, it looked like the Immortal Palace beside the Jade Pool—utterly dreamlike.
"Mr. Quinn, this way, please. It's the usual place." One of them stepped forward. Judging by the voice, it was a man. Only his eyes were visible from under the black cloth.
Ethan Quinn motioned for her to follow, and the two of them walked onto the bridge. When they reached the center, Amelia Lockhart whispered, "Is this place new? It feels a little mysterious."
"It's Silas Linden's place. It's not usually open to the public," Ethan Quinn replied calmly.
