Nina Jacobs's face turned livid.
She picked up the watch and only noticed the line of small text after looking at it. She immediately gritted her teeth and muttered to herself, "Seriously? Who engraves a gift? So childish!"
Amelia Lockhart watched her nonchalantly and smiled. "So, Ms. Jacobs, can you get me a solid gold watch without an inscription? I'm not too fond of this room, as it happens. If I could move to the twentieth floor, that would be even better."
Nina Jacobs angrily slammed the watch back into its gift box, frightening the black-clad man beside her, who quickly checked it for damage.
"Amelia Lockhart, we'll see about this!" Too furious to think of anything else to say, Nina Jacobs spat out the words through gritted teeth.
Amelia Lockhart's smile instantly grew more sincere. "Ms. Jacobs, I'll be waiting for my solid gold watch!"
