Getting out of bed was a failure.
After several failed attempts, Amelia Lockhart decided to accept her fate.
She managed to roll over and glance at her phone. It was already one in the afternoon.
No wonder she was starving.
Exhausted and sleepy, Amelia Lockhart closed her eyes and drifted back into a deep slumber.

When Ethan Quinn found Silas Linden, he was sitting on the balcony, sunning himself while reading a newspaper. On the low table beside him, coffee was brewing.
Two cups.
Silas Linden merely glanced up at him, his fingers twitching as he turned a page of the paper. "You're here. Have a seat. I think you'll like this coffee."
As Ethan Quinn sat down, Silas Linden's voice drifted over. "You smell of Amelia."
It wasn't a guess. Silas Linden's tone was one of absolute certainty.
Ethan Quinn remained silent, his eyes fixed on Silas, but disappointingly, he couldn't detect a trace of anger on the other man's face.
Silas Linden was as calm and composed as ever.
