Julian Winslow furrowed his brows. "What kind of twisted logic is that?"
"I don't care. The injured person is the boss, and I just don't want to answer," she said coquettishly, wrapping her arms even tighter around his neck.
Julian wasn't annoyed. He seemed to have long grown accustomed to her nonsensical way of speaking.
About a minute later, he looked at the woman in his arms, his gaze indifferent yet gentle. "Shalma! If you keep hugging me like this, I might just suffocate."
"Ah!" Shalma Hughes's starry eyes widened in surprise. She looked at his face, then down at her arms clamped tightly around him, and immediately burst into laughter.
Once they reached the car, because of her injured foot, Julian carried Shalma into the backseat. He then climbed in after her, taking the seat beside her.
