Julian Winslow's eyes darkened as he asked flatly, "Ridiculous questions? What kind of questions?"
"I can't remember either. They just weren't very friendly, anyway," Shalma Hughes said casually. A second later, her eyes sparkled as her slender fingers toyed with Julian's meticulously tied necktie. "Can I go on the day they get married?"
"You're pregnant!" Julian furrowed his brows.
Shalma gave his tie a tug and said indignantly, "Are you looking down on pregnant women? Who made it a rule that pregnant women can't attend weddings?"
"Stop messing around. By that day, your belly will be quite large, and it'll be inconvenient for you to move about," Julian reminded her.
Instead, Shalma smiled and planted a kiss on his cheek. "I'll have you, won't I? You'll take care of me, so I'm not worried."
"Alright, get some sleep in my arms. When you wake up, have Faye take you back. I still have work to do here," Julian said, abruptly changing the subject.
