By the time she stood panting in the living room, Dylan Heston had already prepared breakfast.
"Perfect timing. Come have breakfast."
She hurried over, picked up her chopsticks, and started wolfing down her food. Dylan Heston told her to slow down.
She took a big gulp of milk, puffing out her cheeks. "I can't, I'm going to be late!"
In the past, she would have rushed out the door in a panic without even glancing at breakfast.
"I don't know what happened to my alarm today, it just didn't go off!" she said, taking another bite of toast.
Dylan Heston poured her a glass of water. "I turned off your alarm."
"…" Nancy Hughes looked up at him angrily. "Why would you turn off my alarm!"
"It's still early. I'll drive you to the office later."
She had no other choice.
Thanks to the ride in Dylan Heston's car, she made it to the office right on time.
