Annelise Valentine was curled up in the corner of the sofa in her loungewear, staring intently at her phone screen. Her fingers flew across it as she muttered to herself:
"Push! Engage, engage! Ugh, how did the marksman die again? Support, give him a shield!"
The screen went gray, and the word "DEFEAT" popped up in large letters.
She let out a frustrated "Ah!", tossed her phone aside, and flopped back onto the sofa, the picture of despair. "I lost again... Ughhh~"
Jett Westgate had been sitting in an armchair on the other side of the room, an open laptop on his knees as he worked on some documents.
Hearing the commotion, he looked up, his gaze sweeping over her pouting face and the phone she had thrown aside.
He closed his laptop, stood up, and walked over. Sitting down beside her, he picked up the discarded phone and opened the match history page.
It was a sea of red, signifying defeat after defeat.
